I'm pretty sure I confused hard core because when I read base I thought default, like default faces in the sliders, and totally derped over the morph bits, because I got excited, and overwhelmed with new info and derp. Sorry my confusion caused you confusion!   Disregard. Back to square one!

I think it's very hard to say what Abelas's future looks like at this point, assuming he wasn't killed at the Well.  We don't know exactly what Solas is up to, or how he's recruiting aid.  We don't even know where Mythal is, or who she's with.  

 

I like to headcanon Merrill becomes the new host of Mythal (or her godhood, assuming that was kept canon).

 

Merrill's honestly more like Mythal then Morrigan is. Strong sense of justice and compassion but a fiery vengeance and an anger that can be pretty intimidating if she's pissed.

I would love to see Merrill again!  I don't know about her being host to Mythal, but it would be nice to meet up with her again. To see her take on all that's happened, pestering all the Elvhen sentinels. She would no doubt be disappointed that the Dalish got a lot wrong. Would she be excited to learn the truth though? Do you think she would join the dread wolfs ranks to help her people? I worry about Merrill. She was my buddy.

I didn't like Merrill but I'd love to have her back having matured and learned how the world works. I didn't like that they downplayed how knowledgeable and driven she was with her extreme naivete, and I think her evolved and hardened character would be very interesting. Also I didn't think about it before, but you're right that she embodies those qualities of Mythal far better than Morrigan. I love Flemeth to pieces though, and it's her who I want to reatin the Mythalness.

There are default heads but once you use the sliders you can no longer extract what you have made. That's how I understand it. I had extracted the Abelas head (you know what you would think would be his whole head) and when I loaded it into my program it was three heads. I may try a different program, however I suspect it won't make a difference. I think it is the engine that is taking the information and making one full head depending on what sliders were used. I really don't understand why Abelas's head isn't static. I think it has something to do with the sentinels all being derivatives of that head.

You know why Solas is wearing sentinel armor? Because he was one. He was the top sentinel, mythal's main guardian and protector and possible general. He's dressed like a commander. Someone had to control her forces. So I think Mythal asked her close friend Wisdom to take physical form because she feared for her life. And he agreed to it and became the head of her army. Thank you Solas for giving me a headache!

Because she had been murdered. I suspect also that there were many temples to Mythal. But one thing I did notice was the statues of Fen'Harel throughout the temple. You remember the Emerald Knights and how they had all the statues of wolves that symbolized the relationship between knight and wolf guardian? Same thing in my opinion. When i first saw those statues all I could think was that it was guarding something. It looks like a guardian. They are at the feet of Mythal's statue.

 

Solas is bigger than temple guardian. I think he was her personal guardian. He went where Mythal went and he failed in the end to protect her and then he sought vengeance. I also think he removed his vallaslin after she died. I think he wore it willingly to show his loyalty and love. I think Solas loved Mythal in a deep immortal sense and they were very much connected. I am also beginning to wonder if they were lovers. If not, then she was like a mother to him. 

 

As for Abelas's bitterness. Well... the cause could be many things. Solas failed to protect Mythal. He may have also been the underlining cause of her murder without realizing it. Maybe Mythal began to change once Solas became physical. Perhaps... it's jealousy. For all we know Abelas may have once been her personal guardian. Mythal and Abelas may have been lovers. People discount that but obviously things between Mythal and Elgar'nan had deteriorated. We know Mythal is Elvhen like any Elvhen. She would be lonely. I don't see it as an impossibility. And if Abelas and Mythal were romantically involved it would explain his complete and utter devotion. Or it could simply be Abelas blames Solas for Mythal's murder. I suspect there is a lot of that there.

Babelas now that you said it, it makes sense that Solas once was a sentinel and Mythal's personal guardian. I have never thought about it but it makes sense. Although I'm not sure does Abelas' codex entry about wise ones also mean Solas. I think it might not mean him because even if he was a guard and even though Solas seems to know a lot about different things, he also seems to lack certain kind of wisdom which Flemeth/mythal possess. I also think that Solas didn't think to take Mythal's power when he as at her temple. I think Solas' plan was to take the orb back and when that plan failed, he saw no other choice than take the power from Mythal.

Vorathrad I agree that Solas might not be Mythal's sentinel when he began the rebellion because even though Mythal was the best of the gods, she had her own slaves and she might not wanted to give up on them. I believe she treated them better than the rest of the gods but I don't think she wanted to give up on them.

Babelas I think too that Mythal and Solas might have been lovers. Maybe that codex entry about two lovers was about him and Mythal. Anyway I'm not convinced that Abelas also was Mythal's lover. It's possible but his position was much lower than Solas'. Anyway like Babelas said I think Abelas' bitterness towards Solas could be explained by that he accuses of Solas for failing to protect Mythal.

I think one interesting thing about all this is that we don't know in which order things happened. Did Solas start the rebellion after Mythal was dead? He decided to create the veil because she died but it might have taken him more time than we have excepted. I mean he might have decided to create the veil but first he needed to start the rebellion so that he could get enough power. I first thought that Solas started the rebellion first and that thing caused Mythal's death but if Solas was her guardian I think it doesn't make sense that he would have started his rebellion whilse she was alive.

Now that you say it SS it makes sense that Solas would start the rebellion after her murder. I think Solas was faithful to Mythal 100%. It also means that if he started the rebellion after her death it would not pit Solas and Mythal against each other if she wanted to keep her slaves. But I think now that Elvhen came to Mythal with their problems and she helped for a price. That may mean serving her for a period of time or offering up power or riches. I think Mythal was fair and I think she did genuinely care for her people. But I can also see that she would demand a price because otherwise people would bring all their problems to her and do nothing for themselves. I don't think she treated her people like slaves. I suspect now that some, like Abelas, wanted to serve Mythal or... he was paying off a debt. You know I go back and forth on whether Abelas and Mythal had a thing and somehow it doesn't feel right. On occasion I consider it a possibility. I think Abelas just loved her for being a good leader. That's my best guess. But the more I think about Solas the more I wonder if when he said it had been a long time since he was with someone it was because Mythal was the first and last until Inky. Solas seems like he would be very particular about who he loved as would any Elvhen. 

 

No what I meant was that Solas was unaware Mythal still existed in wisp form. I think he was under the impression she was dead... very dead. When he sees the well and the sentinels Solas realizes Mythal's power is still active which means she must be alive. That's why he says so Mythal endures. 

 

But yeah... I totally see Solas as head general, commander whatever you want to call it. That codex...  "Bare-faced but free, frolicking, fighting, fierce. He wants to give wisdom, not orders." Solas=Pride=denied nature  That's why I think he was Mythal's lead sentinel and guardian. I suspect all the gods had a guardian.
