Sorry! I know you aren't trying to start something. I did elaborate now I'm unelaborating. No... I won't elaborate. As someone mentioned to me earlier this thread has become a sanctuary. I want to keep it that way. So I'm dropping this.

It looks perfect!  Really, just like him!  Great job, I'm really impressed!  I don't have nearly the amount of patience to deal with the CC that it takes to get a perfect face.  I usually just take one of the presets and substitute features and coloring.  And I'm glad you like the armor, though I must admit it doesn't do it for me.  

 

I also use that mod for my Dudevellan, but I used the standard instead of muscular.  I might change my mind once I see how he looks in the Arcane Warrior armor, though.  I wasn't trying to recreate dear Abelas when I made my new guy.  I was just inspired by him to  make a hunky male Arcane Warrior since my other Dudevellan was an archer in the time before mods.  I had to delete him, though, because when that scene with Cassandra happened, all I could see was the chest and shoulders of a twelve-year-old boy.  Also, I used the Abelas-shade of skin, and in certain light he looked positively green.  With hot pink finger and toenails.  *shudder*

 

But his smile kills me, so I'll share it since I still have a screenshot even though he's long gone, never to return.  Yes, the Zevran vibes were strong with that one.  He was such a smart ass compared to the noble warrior my current guy is.  The voice didn't match up nearly as well.

I'm glad you think so! The guide was helpful but there were a few things that needed Babelas's shots. I don't think Abelas is really feeling the paint either! It does look like it would be more than a little itchy! I think I might go down to the standard male elf body next this one looks a bit too big sometimes.  I think the standard one is the one modeled off of Solas? That should work better me thinks. I've been working on giving InqAbelas some sentinel armor its just taking some time. The cheat engine is all grumpy with me. I'll snap some screens of that if you'd like. IDK sickly green skin and bright pink toes sound pretty...not appealing. lol That smile! G'aww! He does have some Zev vibes! "Inquisitor Dudelavellan reporting for duty, prepare to be inquisit-ed..."   ... no? lol Where did you take this screenshot? I wanna see if I can get Abelas to smile this cute! If you remember that is. Looks like it might be the Tavern at Haven?

The mod's creator says that the standard body is like Solas', yes.  I have only seen my guy in the Dalish Warrior armor so far, and I had to install the one that the body creator made to have it show up since the body only shows up in light armor.  I put him next to Solas in Haven and the shoulders looked about right.

 

Yes, it's the tavern at Haven when you first speak to Sera.    And be sure to take the middle smart-ass replies.  

 

Cheat Engine took a crap on me and is just throwing errors no matter what I do, so I had to install mods just to get the Dalish schematics I wanted.  Well, yeah, then I ended up going whole hog creating ALL THE BEAUTIFUL ARMORS FOR EVERYONE with mods for crafting supplies.  Dang, Blackwall looks awesome in that heavy Warden armor in silverite with that Griffon mace and that shield with gold trim.  Eh, I play on Casual anyway so I don't care if things die when my party looks at them.

Also, I do not care if they turn Abelas in the future something not so positive. My first ever playthrough of DA:I was Solas romance(cmon an elf! who doesnt have a thing for elves!) When I was left in front of TV gaping in that damn cave and Solas walking away I got angry. Like reading lots of lore angry and trying to understand that world better angry. You can imagine how my second playthrough in temple of Mythal was (it was a Cullen romance and human). I fell in love with that place,wanted to explore every nook and cranny....Abelas with that voice will always be The One for me and I cannot see anyone take him down from that spot

 

Waiting patiently that perhaps I get the possibility to buy PS4 and finally all the DLC-s and play it through again while on the side try to get through DA:O.

It really looks like him! I think this is the closest representation I have seen to date. You have talent converting images to models. And he has ears!!!!!!!!

Same again... Abelas has ruined me for all elves ever. There's something unique about him. I love Zev's humor and Solas's snark and Fenris's struggle but Abelas... for the little time he had in game he evoked so many emotions. He must have one hell of a back story too. But there is something about Abelas in particular that makes me want to see him smile, as if it would make all the heartache of DAI worth it. I can't wait to see your Abelas smile Alchemillia Please post shots of that!

Zev is like...hm perhaps like some younger brother type. Fenris - that voice is truly magical! But still no interest in me,perhaps like a good friend. Abelas....damn he is Royal Thighness and thats it! I have never been a type to have crushes to pop stars or actors or something similar. I have to say, Solas is still my fave elf... I just don't know enough about Abelas. Well, okay, Felassan rocked but he's dead and will never appear in game.

If Abelas reappears and gets an awesome fleshed out personality and more personal backstory, I am willing to revise my opinion. As it stands, what we know of Solas is heartbreaking, horrible... And very interesting. Can't claim that relationship will not suffer, but moving forward and healing is part of what makes the story interesting. Obviously, not something I would want in real life, but stories where everything goes well and is perfect are, let's face it, dull.

So, if Abelas gets a personality and story that are not pure fan conjecture, I hope that he is interesting too, but in a less infuriating and heartbreaking way than our dear Dread Wolf. I enjoy a story with conflict, and sometimes a happy ending isn't possible (and sometimes, very rarely, I enjoy a tragic ending), but I am no masochist. Would like if my next Bioware LI did not take a tragic turn.

I like a bit of heartbreak, some mystery and I like to work for the relationship. But what I don't like is feeling like I am being strung along by the occasional breadcrumb of 'I do care about you' Solas. Plus, I will never be certain of his motivation. With Solas I do not doubt he has feelings for Lavellan but I also do not doubt that she is also a tool especially in the beginning. I think being lied to repeatedly is not a great basis for any relationship, and if it were real life, it's not something I'd wish on any one. So looking at this as a game, sure I find Solas intriguing, but for whatever reason, I simply do not care about him any longer because it's all to much effort and a bit of a mind f*ck. You never know where you stand with that guy and you never know what he has planned, and it sure the hell isn't about you. It's all about him. That's okay to a point. But then it becomes too much and you can't reconcile it all and then you simply do not trust. I need some closure, something less tragic, something that gets all my emotions going but ends up worth it in the end. Solas just p*sses me off now to be honest. I see him and I want to slap him. I get that Solas really makes some people happy. I get it. But I'm on a diet. I can't handle anymore ice cream induced romances, thank you very much.

 

I need something more mature because I'm old. Abelas is like the all grown up Solas with benefits (thighs). He looks good in the armor and that voice... Abelas has so much potential. Hopefully it will get put to good use and I can think of so many uses for it.

I'm also looking forward to a Dude Elf romance option that doesn't leave at the end or the middle. With zero commitment issues...*sigh* A girl can dream.   Abelas seems like the type to stick around. Well, Zevran turned out to be the most loyal man of the bunch.  But you had to work with him to get him to that point.  Which I'm fine with, and would do again in a heartbeat with Abelas.

I agree once you got over all the speed bumps Zev and Fenris were both fiercely loyal. I would prefer for Abelas's romance (if it ever happens) to be a difficult one. (Difficult but without the soul crushing heartbreak that is Solas.) I'm just getting tired of working up to X point in a story arc, where you think "hey things are going good X just told me I was a special snow flake. I'm gonna slay X amount of dragons he's gonna be mine  muahahaha" Only after you slay all of the dragons you get left or told "Us? what is this us? You said the L word I am going to shun you for a bit."

 

That's not to say those characters didn't have legitimate reasons because they totally did. I just want someone who isn't afraid of the LOVE once they fall into the LOVE! The LOVE Tielis!

Well...he's fiercely loyal to Mythal.  But she's a goddess, his goddess, so that would follow.  We don't know how he would be toward quizzy, or Fen'Harel, or anyone else.

This exactly! I enjoy the romances, but most of them seem pretty schoolgirl, which may just reflect the age of the majority of players plus the limitations of the romance story arcs. One thing I do like about Solas is that he's a mature guy who's been around awhile (lol). I guess you could say that about Cullen and Bull, too, and those characters did have their various heartbreaks, but there just wasn't enough depth for me. Well, there was Blackwall, but he was too much like my dad to even consider romancing.

 

I prefer someone who's challenging, like a male Morrigan perhaps. Fenris made me feel a bit icky because of his anti-mage rhetoric. I don't care so much about happily ever after, not big on weddings, etc. I do want some snarkiness and tension, and I think Abelas could deliver that in spades.

 

I had to ask myself: if Abelas were dumb as a doorknob, could I overlook that for the thighs? But no, it has to be the whole package, sneer and everything.

I think there is always limitations. It can't be helped. Blackwall did nothing for me. At one point I thought.... hmmmm maybe and then nah. 

 

Abelas has the potential to be one of the most well balanced elves in DA. I said potential not that it is a fact. It all comes down to how he is written. As for loyalty... Abelas was devoted to Mythal, yes. He viewed her as a god and I believe it was a religious act for him possibly brought about by willingly worshipping her or because he owed her a debt and became tied to the well because of that debt. Mythal aside (whom I dearly love) I believe Abelas loves the sentinels like family. I see a hint of that in him keeping the old guide hidden. Yes, he has to fulfill duty first. But he does care. He teaches, he holds on to what is left. But it also says something about him. Whatever he loves he is dedicated to it. It becomes reasonable then to conclude that if he loved another he would be dedicated and loyal. Why would he suddenly go against what looks like to be his nature. Personally, I enjoy basking in the potential Abelas feels. I don't care if it happens or not. It's nice.
