Oblivion isn't really comparable to DA2
the TES fanbase actually likes it, it sold very well, and helped spawn the TES hype that propelled Skyrim to its hights. It also established the reputation for being mod friendly. And some corners of the internet actually prefer it to Skyrim
Agreed... somewhat. Comercially, Oblivion was a hit from the very beginning but according to what I remember, Bethesda's fans weren't particularly fond of it in the beginning. That changed relatively quickly, but the point remains.
Having said that, I don't see Dragon Age II going down the same path, even if you discount the fact that Oblivion was a huge factor to the modding community in TES.
And, for the record, I'm personally quite fond of DA2, as flawed as the game obviously is.
I'm not going to lie, I don't have any interest in playing the game. I am genuinely glad that the folks that bought the game had a good time.
