Well trying to beat GTA or call of duty is a lost cause. I am not really of fan of them but they always sell a ton. Far cry 4 is not suprising either if only because far cry 3 was so good and DA2 left some players waiting to see if it was good. (I personally liked DA2).
Im worried we might not get a sequel... Dragon age inquisition not even in top 10 best selling of nov?

socially awkward? his problem is that he (much like you) can't get over a freaking game and instead keeps crying on the forums
(sentences like "I will keep on hating and causing disconfort." are just ridiculous)
also not liking a game and posting constructive criticism is good and what adults do but people like you and him are just so childish:
"omg I want the Series to fail just because I didn't like the direction it took"
I don't like Assassins Creed anymore but I don't go on their forums whining all the time and if others enjoy it fine I just don't buy the games anymore

Comments like this make me worry about you. A game not being exactly what you wanted shouldn't come in at No1 on the list of the most painful things to happen to you.
yep the guy is either just trolling (doesn't seem like it) or mentally unstable in which case
he should seek a therapist ASAP

Hey if you played ME1 and ME2 for a total of 700 hours and got bitchslapped by an ending by that then maybe you'd feel that way
i didnt want the series to fail
EAware did that on it's own with DA2 and ME3

I played those games a lot too. The ME3 ending wrecked the series for me. I've never been able to replay it. It was incredibly disappointing. But since I'm a (relatively) stable adult, I got over it.

this game was a disaster out the gate
inaccessible and at times unplayable
small amounts of xbox360 + PS3 players are getting disc cannot be read errors out of the case
I'm pretty sure that if you quote someone in a reply, the reply's supposed to have something to do with what you quoted. I don't see how what you posted here has anything to do with what I said (which was that even a bad delay on a download is faster than waiting for Amazon to deliver a box, just in case you're actually reading posts.)

As for katokires, who I guess is now the topic of the thread, I'm impressed by how we haven't actually seen an ORTesc-style meltdown yet. Always right up to the line, but not quite over it.

And I can only hope I do at least annoy some people. Even a bit. If I can inflict a little disconfort in anyone it is enough for me. But even if I don't i will keep trying. I have nothing else now, just pain.
Hopefully it won't be too long before you are banned again. You are not here to contribute to the community in a constructive way, hence, you shouldn't be allowed to be here.

This is not social awkwardness, this is deep, serious psychological pathology that only inpatient treatment can help. Being here is not healthy for this person, or anyone else interacting with him for that matter. The only hope this person has is a nice padded room with high doses of very strong neuroleptic medications, powerful electrical shocks to the cranium, and psychiatric professionals available 24/7.

Some enterprising Psych major really needs to take me up on the suggesting I made months ago: "The Abnormal Psychology of Gamers". It'd be epic. You'd be internet famous. And you might even help a few tortured souls get the help they need.

And yet, shedding most of the flaws found in games like Baldur's Gate is part of the reason why Dragon Age can go forward as a modern RPG.
Spiritual successor or not, BioWare was well beyond their past roots of exposition-heavy, textual based, stat driven RPGs by the time Dragon Age Origins came out. There is a reason why such games are full on niche appeal now, it's archaic in design.
A game like Baldur's Gate 2, for example, is all about telling over showing. The game lives or dies based on the script and the strength of the writing to compensate for lack of visual interpretation of the world. This also leads to a sort of non-linearity of the world around you, one that you can explore to find these nooks and crannies with crazy madmen shouting gibberish, visual tales of love and torture, and the like. You can get a sense of richness from this, and from some questlines, because it's writing heavy.
And it needs to be because it has to compensate for everything else. Since it is a game based entirely on stats, the questlines need tangible rewards and notches to make you stronger so you can continue the ultimately linear progression. The richness of the world around you is enhanced with the tangible rewards, upgrades and weapons you can use to continue the game itself. It is that statistic-based type of gameplay which really originated from dungeon crawl games from 1980s in the U.S and Japan, and continues to this day in a lot of MMORPG games, where stats are a primary crux to the experience. Yes, that's right, older RPG's have a lineage of stat-based gameplay that MMO's have adopted, Baldur's Gate influenced titles like The Old Republic and World of Warcraft.
Dragon Age was always more visually impressive. Origins had a lot of writing in it and while it was well done, it wasn't the focus. The focus was the main story itself, and everything is serving that. Inquisition is simply put gorgeous, it tells you more about the world in its art direction and world design than any written text or exposition needs to. The loss of that is deeper questlines; which in a sense is a more modern thing. If you look at Skyrim or Fallout 3, you notice how a lot of choices tend to be binary and have paper-thin plotlines and characters to them. This is in line with basic RPG design, even in games like Planescape Torment we see a lot of binary choices in minor questlines. The strength of these choices is not how they mesh together or what they do, but how they are presented. You can argue that Inquisition is not good at presenting them, but the main storyline is proof enough that it is, it is the side content that feels more or less lacking since it's all statistic-based, ironically much like older RPG design.
And that is the problem, really. The issue stems from not moving away fully I feel. Inquisition, and Dragon Age, essentially need to forge ahead completely and shake off the "roots" into a new direction. Any half measures turn those aspects of it's design into a crutch. Don't cut out written descriptions completely, but make it meaningful. Shed the stat-based paradigm from titles like Baldur's Gate and overhaul the crafting system, and maybe add a few more world interactions, and you got a much more solid experience in an already solid game. Dragon Age II tried but failed, and BioWare got spooked and went back on the crutch to get some good will.
They need to keep going forward.
