When you pick up metals, for instance?

I of course cannot be certain, but from my experience so far it seems to be roughly one out of one hundred. Meaning that if you find a container with ten pieces, like in fade rift drops, there's a 1 in 10 chance at least one of them will be fade-touched. But I could be way off. It could be more or less common than that, but it's roughly what I've seen. It's my best guess until we've got something more official.

I think I'm getting towards the end of the game. I'm level 22, my next main story quest is mission 8 of 10* and I think I've done most side quests (i.e. most areas have 2 quests, 2 areas have 5/6 quests, some areas have no quests, I have 2 inner circle collection quests, and most of the outstanding quests are collections).

 

At this stage of the game, fade touched resources seem to be dropping very often. Earlier in the game, I was like, "yay something something fade touched!!!" now I'm like. "oh cool another one."

I really think the odds are increased by your level. The first are rare indeed, but now I'm at lvl 18, and while I don't have lots of every kind I certainly have lots spare "1 of this and 1 of that".

Tbh, I have more than I know what to do with.

My character just reached level 20, and my influence just reached 11.  I would say that very recently, the frequency skyrocketed - from hardly ever seeing any, to getting some almost every time that I go out on a few sidequests where I kill a number of enemies.  Not different enemies either, pretty much the same type I've been battling for ages.

I'd like to know this too, especially after finding out in my second playthrough how awesome fade touched iron is with it's healing passive.  I do seem to get more fade-touched cloth from corpses/red lyrium people, then I get Fade-touched metal from anywhere though
