I cannot find this skill on the trees, nor find a mention of it on the web beyond it being a part of the tempest tree.

 

Did I just a ring for a skill that doesn't exist in mp, or am I just missing it on a tree somewhere?

Plenty of items with a stat / proc that does nothing for the MP (like a dagger i got that increases focus gain by 20%), the loot is based on the RNG loot table of SP

But I should calm down because it is nothing special to receive an article you absolutely have no use for.

 

Because 99,9 % of all items are worse than the equipped items and therefore are immediately disposed of.

Fun fact: Thousand cuts was the best martial skill on my favorite Bioware game "Jade Empire".

Thousand Cuts is the Tempest focus ability. I got a Cloak of Shadows ring too which is the Assassin focus ability. Who knows they may put focus abilites and dragons in mp so it might be useful one day?

Some of the SP focus abilities already are in MP, they're just not focus abilities here. Like counterstrike and firestorm. I really doubt we'll ever get focus in MP. And I hope we won't either. Rather just keep long cooldowns on the powerful abilities.

New classes are coming sooner or later though so this ring might prove useful some day.

I think the real discussion comes down to why are there items that have no relevance to mp diluting the loot pool? Especially when the RNG is exceptionally hard to progress through to get good gear.

This, in SP it's an extremely powerful ability, and the few resources you get from it aren't really worth the risk I'd say.

Same. I still have it and play it on my 360. Being watching a let's play on YouTube of the PC version. Looks 100x better. :-)
