Arcane Warrior has always been an OP class, as soon as I heard that it will be back for MP, I knew this was going to happen :lol:

Legion and templar have to block to attain guard which does not degrade.

 

AW has to constantly be attacking to get a shield which degrades.

 

So because AW doesn't have to actively guard makes him op? lol k.  

 

Just because a class has great utility does not mean its op.... necessarily.

The thing is I'm fairly certain barrier can take a lot more damage than guard can.

Barrier goes up to 2000-3000.
Guard goes up to like 250.
On perilous 1 hit from a basic ennemy does more than that so your guard bar is gone instantly.

Arcane Warrior isn't really any better than any of the other classes but there are a few things that make it appeal to the masses, #1 You don't need to rely on a keeper\elementalist to keep the barrier running on you #2 Pull of the abyss allows you to group those nasty girl archers up while you close the gap to keep you barrier running #3 Chain lightning gives you the buffer to get into melee range. These class skills all work seamlessly together to make it the default class for the majority of people who don't want to play a complex class that takes a lot of strategy. None of the skills it possesses are any stronger than what the other classes possess, it just plays the easiest and because every other forum post or video is about the Arcane Warrior people think its the beat all end all class. Its good don't get me wrong but I really don't think its SOOO amazing that it makes any other class a non viable choice.

point of interest, damage reduction from armor and other sources effects guard lifebar and doesn't affect barrier, also barrier deteriorates quickly while gured doesn't deteriorate at all.

It is but for once i am not in favour of a nerf unless they nerf some of the ridiculous boss powers as well.

I consider the Elementalist to be more like a TGI (Barrier spam = Stimpack spam) plus huge damage output

 

I equate the AW to a lesser GI tbh (doesn't take as much skill to dominate w an AW, compared to the GI, which in any users hands varies from the uber roflstomp kit, to the guaranteed gold revive medal for his teammates)

I think he was originally a design idea for ME3MP, but the notion of a male Asari was a bit over the top.

Its true that barrier deteriorates quickly but it also goes up just as quickly. And it enables you to survive hits you don't survive with guard.

The multiplayer was simply poorly balanced in regards to weapons vs armor.

We're walking around with lvl 20+ weapons and level 4 armor.

You start the single player game and basically the first crappy armor you have is about as good as the best armor in multiplayer.

This is why classes that dont rely on armor to survive : mages, are really shining right now and classes that were balanced around having armor scaled to the level of the mobs they are fighting : warriors, suck right now.

This is so true. When I started playing I just assumed we would unlock tier 3 and even tier 4 armor after building tier 2. Really bizarre choice to make us wear long underwear into mortal danger and call it "armor."

Seriously dude ? Take your guard bar into threatening or perilous then come back and argue that gaurd is better.

On threatening with two +25% max gaurd passive's you'll still lose full gaurd in just two arrows.

On perilous you may as well pretend it doesn't exist.

Stop playing katari.

Legionnaire and templar can both tank fine in perilous.
As previously noted, guard takes armor into account.
Templars and legs get a lot of armor, AND turn the bolt.

I wasn't talking about the Katari, which if you don't count the armor bonus from the shield actually has a higher armor rating with the best possible armor at 95 where the best for the templar is 78.

I'm not sure what platform you're on but on ps4 full gaurd is gone in just two arrows on threatening regardless of class.
