Stop playing katari.

Legionnaire and templar can both tank fine in perilous.
As previously noted, guard takes armor into account.
Templars and legs get a lot of armor, AND turn the bolt.

 

I think one thing you have to take into account is that although the templar and legionnaire can tank well, their damage output is subpar at best(the templar can put out damage but you would have to take away tanking abilities). But a AW is unbalanced because he has good survivability with barrier generation, fade cloak and fade step, while producing above average damage with good aoe and control abilities. Now whether Bioware will nerf it or buff other classes to its level I have no idea but I think its a bit naive to argue that the class is balanced.

they just need to make the warrior armor not suck balls. Right now, they suck bad. I had better armor in SP by lvl 5 then the best armor available in MP. It's really, really sad. Not sure why they thought 90-ish made any sense for tanks, it's a little baffling. Should be at least 200 - at the absolute least.

full gaurd is gone in just two arrows on threatening regardless of class.

If an archer shoots me in the front I take exactly 1 damage per shot.

If they shoot me in the back it looks like it takes like 5 shots to take out my guard, but I'm not supposed to let them shoot me in the back if I'm playing perfectly.
(These were the first 3 runs I attempted vs each enemy type, not cherry picked perfect runs, fyi)

this is exactly what i was talking about, armor and other damage reduction abilities apply to guard, so 150 points of guard could easily outlast 1500 diminishing points of barrier

I don't think AW is overpowered. I think that perilous is a royal mess and AW is the only class with a proper combination of sustain and dps. 

For some odd reason developers of games these days decided that just making mobs hit harder means more difficulty which in a sense it does, but in reality it just limits viable character chooses.

The main reason ppl are crying to nerf AW are because perilous difficulty punishes aggressive gameplay and AW is not only good for this but excels where nearly every class has to tip toe to avoid instant death.

MOST classes can do perilous just fine WHEN PROPERLY GEARED.

offhand, alchemist and katari are the only two classes I can think of that struggle at all with perilous after getting proper gear.

I have seen, and performed with, every other class on that difficulty just fine.

You can't jump into perilous until you're geared for it.
(Most classes just need 20+ weapons and tier 2 armor. Rogues benefit GREATLY from life on kill accessories. Legionnaire benefits greatly from crit. Everyone benefits from skill rings. Just about everyone benefits from cool down accessories. Having these makes perilous a breeze assuming you know how to play. No arcane warrior necessary)

Alchemist is fine, still has acces to flank strike twin fangs and stealth.
