Might be that this question has already be asked, but I didn't feel like digging for it. Pretty simple, I'm at the part of the game where I can choose to support leliana or cassandra for divine. Haven't made up my mind, but I'm in a romance with cassandra and it would kind of suck to have to split things up if she has to go do… divine things. Anyway, was wondering which path is preferable if you wanted to keep the romance, or if it even matters at all and works out the same either way. Thanks ahead of time.

Gaider's answer to this question was just along the lines of 'you'll have to wait and see.' It's not really covered much in-game, the dialogue is mostly the same.

It's been said Leliana stays with a romanced Warden though, so maybe Cassandra does the same with a romanced Inquisitor. Don't think she's quite the type to change all the rules like that like Leliana is, though.

Unfortunately, your support at that point may not matter. It depends largely on choices you made throughout the game and how you expressed your views on the chantry's future.

As for your question, yes her becoming Divine does end the romance. There is a dialogue exchange towards the end of the game where you tell her you just want to be together with her forever, and she says "And If I become Divine?"  Your responses are "Refuse it" where you say "I won't lose you to the Chantry" and she responds "You haven't lost me yet". Another is "It doesn't matter" Where she responds (I don't recall the exact wording) that it will matter because she won't have time to devote to the relationship, she will need to fully commit.

If you want to have the romance ending where she sticks with the inquisitor, you have to avoid letting her become the divine and have her disband the seekers. The first post in the thread in my signature has information on how to do that. Look at the Leliana Divine template in there.

@Snook - True, but there are occasions where if you select a certain dialogue like the one mentioned above she hints that it will have to end if she becomes the divine. And Leliana as you mentioned isn't as conservative as Cass is, she takes it a little more seriously I think.

When she becomes divine, if you are in a romance, you will get a dialogue prompt that has three options. Only one one of those options breaks up with her. Where the relationship goes from there if you don't break up with her though is yet to be written, so no telling if it will work long term.
