... there are quite a number of dog/wolf statues aka Fen'Harel in there?

I don't know if this has been pointed out before and I'm not well versed in DA lore but I think it's interesting.

There are also plenty of dog/wolf statues in the Emerald Graves. One codex entry says that the Emerald Knights kept wolves as companions.

there goes my hope, then :(

it's just that for those statues to be in a temple and I remember Morrigan show surprise when she sees one (granted, she's not an elf and she's not a loremaster, but she supposedly knows more about it than the rest of us mortals, in any case)

It doesn't rule out the possibility that the statues/wolf companions were originally meant to honor Fen'Harel. The term "harellan" that they use to mean "traitor to one's kin" in relation to Fen'Harel only appears in the Towers Age, which is after the Fall of the Dales.

Those statues are everywhere, almost like they were mass-produced. I'm surprised they've survived this long, though I think I recall someone saying they were enchanted with some special magic to stand the test of time.
