I also am a restart ho. For me though, I mainly enjoy the early stages of the game, when it is in my mind, the most difficult.
Near end game, I also think to myself, "What about trying X"? Then I go do it.

You guys are freaks....
I took 5 minutes do to mine; basic but really good looking.
The only time he doesn't look good is in the infamous chat with Varric where he gets cross-eyed...
This... its just an avatar.. wtf.
I did one initially, archer, found it to be pretty boring, elected to do a qunari instead. Done.
Never...did...that...ever...
My current main char which I also consider "canon" for the future took me at least 5 or so attempts until I was satisfied with the ingame-look ..I start to hate the intro and know the entire dialogue by now ...
Don't know if this makes sense or is just me being a nudge. I tend to play the first act of any game several times to get the feel of the controls, fine tune my PC, and get the early results I want in a game, especially if it is long and involved. Any area of a game can only be new once, so before I move on, I want to know what I'm doing, gameplay wise, before I unlock any new areas. I don't want to resort to a guide, as this learning of the game is one of the main entertainments to me.
Only three? Lucky
I think I must have done a dozen by now.
This.
I'm 80 hours played and I haven't made it past Skyhold. Keep restarting, but that's my way with epic games. Gotta find the perfect combo to take for that first playthrough. This last time was just to tweak eyebrows though, they were bugging me.

I did finish my first playthrough, because I was able to romance Dorian without any problems.
Then I made a second character, deleted it after 15 mins.
Third one: Happy. Wanted to do all the sidequests. 40hours into the game I romanced Dorian again, broke it off because I wanted to see how a romance with Bull played out. Bug. Cannot romance Bull, cannot reengage in a romance with Dorian. Stopped playing that save hoping for a fix someday.
Fourth: female human rogue for a change, romancing Cullen and loving it, except for the leveling etc. getting repetitive ![]()
A couple of the comments about "Why are you all so hung up on it?" are silly - different strokes for different folks ![]()
Some people roll in, tweak a few things, go in and are like "Eh, works" and that's awesome. Others, like myself, prefer to finely craft our avatars because, well, that matters to us along with the meat of the game.
See no reason to find it absurd or weird - tis the beauty of an RPG ![]()

This would all be fixed if Bioware kepts one of the good things in DA2 and gave us the mirror.
Never ceases to amaze me how much Bioware can make a great, great game, but at the make time make stupid, stupid mistakes.
It took me nearly 4 times to get a fem elf I liked. Got 25 hours in and realized my Keep World State never imported.
Restarted.
55 hours later and my romance progress with Sera bugged out and I get locked out.
Rolled back 25 hours. Unlocked Sera romance. Woo!
Pretty happy with my elf (though my next one, fem elf mage, will be better). I'm now another 30 hours in. Nearly caught up to my first save but now the patch is out and I realize I could go back and do a 'certain thing' and not have my voice change. But... nah. I'm not gonna bother.
Well, I don't even know how many hours it's been anymore. But jeez, that CC lighting is so misleading. Nothing like going for subtlety only to step outside to talk to Cass and realize it looks like a 5 year old took pencil crayons to your face. Loooool.
Can't believe people worry about stuff like this. You only re-roll a RPG if you screw up stats.
I can understand why so many people restart Divinity: Original Sin. But not this game. This is like cheesy RPG. You don't even have total control of stats in this game. And the Borderlands-style skill trees can be reset.
I tried to create a George Parros, and he ended up looking like a red-headed Sam Elliott, with heavy mascara.
But who cares.
It's the lack of stat control that is the major downfall. Consoles are just ruining these RPG's. They feel like grade one math class now. With many of the stats untouchable, hidden, or being calculated for us.
You only reroll if you mess up stats.
Some of us enjoy the process of creating the look, and we're playing the game to suit us, not you.
The eyebrows are what caused me to restart over and over. It looked like they were always black no matter the hair color. And they seemed really big. I finally caved and gave the inquisitor darker hair. Which worked out.

Apparently we are getting such an option ![]()

If you make a ginger, you do get ginger eyebrows. Just sayin'.
Was that confirmed? Could you provide the source?
Was posted on twitter..

I was about 8 hours in when I realized I made an elven Dana Carvey. It could not be unseen.
