Never...did...that...ever...

My current main char which I also consider "canon" for the future took me at least 5 or so attempts until I was satisfied with the ingame-look ..I start to hate the intro and know the entire dialogue by now ...

29wi0n.jpg

And I was still close to another restart because I am not 100% satisfied with her lipstick-colour...but char-creation, the puzzle leading to a "perfect" char and the satisfaction from seeing him/her in the cutscenes looking good is half the fun for me

Just to add to your ocd, I don't like her lipstick either. I think it's too bright. Should be more of a darker red to match her hair. Pink is no good. You should restart again.

That looks like the weird Lip Shine effect to me

I typically spend 60-90 minutes building a face in DAI.

So far, I've built 6, but I've only kept two of them. 3 didn't look right once I got them into the world, amd one suffered from the gender bug so I didn't keep him (and I think his complexion would have been altered by the recent hotfix, anyway).

Pfft three restarts? One time I restarted from the beginning because I wasn't happy with how Hawke looked.

My concern with restarting is the Keep playthrough page is filling up with reject Inquisitors, and there is no way to clear them . :P

I restarted Mass Effect 2 several times for the same reason.

In DAI, I restarted only once. I'm annoyed by the blackest hair option being gray, but I am living with it.

I love creating characters, I could create them all day honestly.  If that was actually a job, I could take it happily!   :D   My avatar is my main character, the first one who made it past that awful run up the hill cutscene where you look like an escaped ape.  She isn't perfect by any means, and her makeup is too heavy, but she has grown on me.  To be perfectly honest, I loved a couple characters I created but got rid of them because the character voice just didn't match the face.  And then there was my accidental Anderson Cooper elf.  I tried to play him but he just asked too many questions and I felt guilty making him make hard decisions when all I could think was "Oh God, I just forced Anderson Cooper to.... " instead of using the characters actual elven name.  I deleted him but instantly regretted it.  Ah well.  Once my current main is finally done (so much still to do!) I still need to get my elves that I will be happy with.  I have a hard time with the bodies in the PJs with their big heads.  I'll eventually get over it.... I always play elves so I have to get past that somehow

I've probably deleted 20+ characters already. I even tried to recreate a Loghain that actually LOOKED like him.  I did all right but not good enough to keep.  I'l get him yet!

I've restarted about 12 times and finally made it to the end. I have serious problems with restartitis. I do it in every rpg and it drives me nuts.

I really hope there will be a way to delete heroes from the keep eventually, otherwise mine is going to be filled with dozens upon dozens of "Harolds."

Still using the first character I created... well, the first one I created who survived the opening crashes long enough to save. :D

I am considering this in all seriousness, on nightmare, going Riftmage...If only I remember the face I based her on. Was one of the Albino-chicks, and I remember they had awful eyeliner and stuff as well, which also caused me to reload when I saw it in game!

We really need that in-game-face-transformator ASAP!

I've learned to actually beat the game before I let my OCD kick in. Then I can make my perfect run. Just a sugestion, I know how it is :P

This isn't a new thing by any means (DA:O has the dubious honour of me having to restart 7 times before I got things going), but it does make me wonder... Does anyone actually follow through their initial start with a full play through?

I tend to restart once, typically - I did that with Inquisition too. But I actually DID follow through my initial start with a full playthrough in DA:O.

I started a two-handed warrior commoner dwarf, and I was instantly enthralled by the story, by the richness of the dwarven world I could see around me. I made many mistakes, and suboptimal choices which made the game more difficult than it would have been otherwise for my first playthrough, but I just couldn't let go of my warden, that had felt so RIGHT right from the beginning.

That's the only time, I think, I've not restarted at all before doing a full playthrough of a game like this.

DAO was the only Dragon Age game where I completed my first playthrough. I restarting DA2 dozens of times before finishing one playthrough to completion; it was my final playthrough that was my canon and overall favorite.

I started DAI last weekend and after 55 hours I'm restarting. I got this anxious feeling that I was almost done with the story and still wasn't feeling my Inquisitor, nor feeling like I really knew any of the characters. Going to restart with a new character in the next few days. I wonder if I'll get the pacing right so I won't feel that way again.

I spent ages making my dudequisitor for my nightmare run and didn't realize he looked like crap until I got to Haven. I decided to just deal with it and spent something like 10 hours running around Hinterlands doing random quests. When I continued the main storyline and started to get more closeups of his face, I realized how much I truly hate it and I feel sorry for Dorian for having to romance him, lol. Might've started over had I been playing on normal but I don't have the energy to do it all over again on nightmare.

That's more or less exactly what happened to me. The lack of moody lighting and face-to-face cutscenes make the hinterlands *really* good at disguising any issues with your character's face - it's only when you start hitting Val Royeaux that it can become apparent. It's frustrating really, as I want get that feeling back of realising just how big the hinterlands is, but hey, better that then p,acing through the game with a douche-face :P

After realising that the face editor and the first few hours of play somehow managed to disguise a really awful goof I made, along with some horrendous mistakes in my play through, I am now on restart número tres.

DAI is the first game where my first character looks so good that I'm afraid I'll never be able to create her like:

I'll replay her at some time because I had some decisions and outcomes I'd rather not have in her story, but as for what I made in the CC, I'm well satisfied.

Yeah me too. Well, not Harolds. :P

Also, when they link your keep world state with a DAI game, it drops the warden/Hawke names and uses the default.  Lets say I have 2 male elf mages, named Joe and Steve, who become wardens. One of them is pure and good while the other is the biggest jerk this side of Orlais.

In the keep I use them for different games. however when I look at the played world states, they are both called Alim. Very annoying. How do I know which game has which?

Yep my current character who I have been playing for 95 hours now is the one I rolled for EA Access. I will finish this character before trying another stab with a different race and sex. Don't know what my second playthrough will be yet but hopefully it will be as good as this one.

According to the keep, I have 42 characters started in DA:I.    Only now, am I on one that I will be finishing the game with.
