I agree it should be skippable like the rest of dialogue... but to be you make it sound like it's several minutes long.. the song from mother giselle is in fact 40 seconds long, EXACTLY. Not 1 minute, just 40 seconds (I have a video playthrough of the game.. i checked my video and looked at the time index, song is exactly 40 seconds long... although the unskippable lead up before the song starts might add an extra 10-15 seconds, not sure).

Would be nice if it was skippable yes, but let's not make a mountain out of a mole hill when it's 40 seconds you could take to stretch your legs, have a drink, etc.

Wait, it's seriously 40 seconds? I thought people were talking about something like the scene in Final Fantasy X-2, where the song goes on for four minutes. 40 seconds is too long to sit through, or to get up and take a whiz or get a snack or something? Grow an attention span, people.

....who cares? It's like a 1 minute scene that happens once every 60-100 hour playthrough....and it might literally be the pinnacle scene of the entire game. I'm guessing you can't skip it because if someone did on accident it could seriously lower the quality of their experience.

It would improve the quality of my experience. Where's my skip button?

....the amount it would lessen someone's experience is a lot more than it would increase your experience, which from what i can gather from your posts, has already been fairly putrid.

Fair point.

It's just really annoying if you have to listen to it several times in a row instead of being able to skip it like any other cutscene in the game.

How exactly being able to skip a cutscene would lessen someone's else experience ?

He means that if a player accidently skips the cutscene, the experience could be lessened because he would have missed something.

Unskippable cutscenes are bad, unless they're masking a loading screen on something, which I can't imagine this is.

Not that I'd want to skip it.

I was already a little peeved that the scene still plays when i choose the option that equates to pointing out that religion is the root of the problem, but then i have to sit trough a long cut scene that basically amounts to a big middle finger to my choice, I just turn of the tv and wait now but why should i have to? why is this scene unskippable? then again why are any cutscenes not skippable? that seems kind of lame to be honest, in fact just make all cut scenes skippable.

There is NOTHING wrong with that scene and it doesn't last long.  I suggest you follow Cassandra's words and "deal with it"

And people wonder why games get dumbed down.

Now imagine the game crashed upon arriving at Skyhold and you would have to sit through the cutscene again and again and again until the game worked... would you still be okay with waiting?

You really cant wait 2 minutes?

Of all the feedback they have received, of all the bugs and corrections, and improvements to be made, you really think this is interesting?

Wow, then that's a pretty stupid argument. Especially as you need to press Esc at least twice to skip a part.

That entire cut-scene made me cringe, even the very first time I saw it. Not because of any religious opinions I may have, but purely in the way it was delivered. Ugh! Absolutely horrible, IMHO. I wasn't aware that I am in the middle of a cheesy musical and if I was phyically there as the Inquisitor, I would have plugged Sister Gisselle's pie hole with my boot.

Absolutely terrible.

So I am with the OP on this, I mute that sh*t as soon as it starts!

I would be more inclined to believe that, if not for the only Atheists in the games being Stereotypes or evil, outside of maybe Solas,

Oh, for crying out loud.

I am an atheist.  Absolute, complete, total lack of faith in any supernatural elements.  And I love that scene.  It's beautiful and evocative.  And it isn't that long, unless you have the attention span of a gnat.

Yeah, well just wait until P Diddy makes a cover of that song with Rihaana and it's all you hear on the radio.
