I'm having a really tough time dealing with arcane horrors on nightmare difficulty. That 'beam-like' attack insta kills me.
My character is a 2H reaver. Always travel with solas as my mage, and a rogue and warrior.

Warrior as in tank? If you're not making your tank take the brunt of the damage when he casts that spell, it's gonna cost you. Your best bet is fighting it with the Tac-Cam because you can pause the action before he starts casting that spell and move your tank in front of it with Shield Wall. Or try and burst it down ASAP when it spawns.

my opinion you could use another mage for extra protection if it's getting to where you're constantly dieing by it. also having your guard set up will deflect some of the damage (which you prolly know already but just in case yea). also you could try to lure him with your rogue (if it's not cole unless you have him using range) to you instead of going to him this way he won't bring in mobs as well and your entire group will be focused on the horror.
