Why does my main character slouch? Was this intentional?

Because it looks awful! Other characters don't. Or when they do they actually snap back to proper posture. This looks like a bug or something.

I know! What the hell is going on with that? Why can't they fix this? It's horrible looking and in nearly every cut scene.

Maybe Bioware used a senior staff member for animation modeling purposes

The character behavior and animation is a work in progress along with the other models.  The existing models are, just crude!

If this is indeed a bug I would be overjoyed. Yet so much of the PC's animation and rigging is awkwardly jarring that it would not surprise me if this isn't a bug.

Yep, hate the slouch. I also hate how my lady quizzie walks like a man with giant muscles in cut scenes and sits with her legs spread wide. I'm not into that.

Theres also a horrendous issue with arms becoming disconnected in cut scenes. If I equip the battlemage mail arms upgrade, my characters arms are literally disconnected from her shoulders in cutscenes and her hands become stretched, elongated to hideous propoetions. Basic **** ups like this really shouldnt have made it to release.

Yes I hate the bad Posture of the main character, I had a thread on this named

"Osteoporosis"

I had nearly decided that only a few other's and my self noticed this. Glad I am not alone, in how terrible I think the main character looks, who if human is suppose to be of Noble Origin's. Slouching around like that is very distracting to me, and just does not promote the look of a champian, and Iconic image of salvation to the people.

Although he was dumber than the dog according to Morrigan, Alister at least did carry him self like a nobleman.  And his posture seemed Correct.

My Character in DAI looks like a slob :(

Yes. This really bothers me. The difference between her walking animation out in the world and her walking animation in cutscenes is absolutely ridiculous.

I've only had my character slouch once, and it shocked me lol I thought it was part of the story, it looked exactly like he was "walking up" to someone to intimidate or hit them, and I thought, "why would they make him do that to someone he wants help from?"

Bad posture, joint pain, reduced lung function, scoliosis, looking like a gorilla.

Bioware wanted to give their gamers an extra level of immersion by giving their character the "i sit in my computer chair all day" slouch.

Is the slouch honestly that pronounced though? I couldn't tell what was supposed to be wrong in the first 2 pictures, in the third it looks like she's intentionally slouching, and in the 4th...idk she barely looks like she's slouching to me? Is this really that jarring to people? It might be since I've never had to stare at a female inquis for every cutscene. Just from these images...it doesn't seem as pronounced/severe as the backlash is making it out to be...you'd think she looked like a grandma.

Ya seems like the head is sticking forward too much , one would hope all races and genders would be equally um.....posturally correct ?  But ya my male qunari has no such problems

In the one cutsecene where my character slouched it was very pronounced, I thought I was watching one of the Planet of the Apes movies, and my guy was going to beat his chest and then backhand some Templars.

I have only noticed the slouch in a few cut scenes.

But I think it works fine for my qunari inquisitor. Its like she is trying to be less intimidating.
