I can't decide who to support for empress/emporer. I feel like the game doesn't give me enough information. Who did you support, or not support, and why?

You can actually get them to work together. Also the game gives you enough info. You have an idea of what kind of a ruler Celene or Gaspard would be and what they would do. You can talk to them about it.

I picked Celene. I was actually going to go for Gaspard, but when I learned about the coup plans I inmediately changed my mind. We have a bad history with military coups in my country, so in no way I would support one (at least for my main Inquisitor)

I would also go Celene. Gaspard would soon turn his greedy little eyes toward Ferelden. More for Gaspard's sake than Ferelden's. Gaspard vs Alistair. Gaspard toast.

Get all of them to work together:
in order to do this you must-
- Get briana's locket through the halla door in celene's chamber
- Gaspards info (where the library entrance is) Halla door
- get the naked soldier to testify (5 halla door)
Confront all of them about their hidden agendas
Then at the end you can tell them to work together.

This is incorrect. You don't need briana's locket for them to work together. Although you can get the locket for a very specific ending.
To get them to all work together you need to get the Fereldan mercenary, the elven servant and the naked soldier to agree to testify against their respective rulers.

Okay i did the whole quest over twice to test it all.
You need 7 hallas to get the best ending:
- 2 for the halla door by the library which is mandatory
- 5 for the naked soldier
The elf servant you save needs to testify
The mercenary can either testify or be your agent.
The naked soldier must testify
The locket is optional and as stated by solo is used for a very specific ending.
Thank you for the correction

Celene, she is already the empress - why would you want some new git on the throne?
Sera's scene post WeaWH summarizes it perfectly.

The mercenary can either testify or be your agent.
You can do both, get him to testify and be you agent. You need one of the "extra dialogue" inquisition perks forgot exactly which one(arcane knowledge probably).

Underground knowledge is the agent option (that does both) there is no other option from the codex perks.

Honestly, I would go with Gaspard. Celene will turn on the Inquisition, whereas Gaspard will not. Besides, Celene would slaughter thousands of innocent elves just to suit herself. War with Fereldan is easily avoided by signing a peace treaty. He'll do that with Alistair or Anora with a War Table mission. If you do that, he'll instead turn his armor towards Tevinter. Plus, noble houses who stand against him get eradicated. They're all pricks and deserve it.
