So I decided to level up my Alchemist in order to work on poison kills and much to my dismay Flank Attack is glitched. The glitch is that when you have stealth granted by Flank Attack's upgrade, whenever you break that stealth it also resets Flank Attack's cooldown. So if you attack with Flank Attack and gain stealth from it, and then use any attack or skill other than Flank Attack, the full 8s cooldown is reset. I tested this with the Assassin and Alchemist and it is the same for both. I am playing on the PS4 but can anyone confirm if this is the case for the other platforms as well?

This does not match my experiences on PC, but I can go through later tonight to make sure I didn't somehow completely miss something.

Doesn't happen to me on PC. Just checked.

Happens on PS3. In Single and Multiplayer. Thought it was normal.

What's funny is that it did not work this way on the PS4 prior to the patch. Now, both the Assassin and Alchemist are severely handicapped since you are forced to break Flank Attack's stealth as soon as possible in order to not reset its 8s cooldown again.

Oh wait. I misunderstood. I thought you meant it bypassed the cooldown, making flank attack ready to use again, my bad. It does indeed reset the cooldown on breaking stealth (on PC). To me, this makes sense though, otherwise you could just stay in stealth 24/7. Sure, you wouldn't be useful to your team but it would be weird nonetheless.

Honestly I think the glitch is that it doesn't get a sustained icon during the stealth it gives you. As it is you can already flank attack from stealth into stealth every 8 seconds without consequences. They should stop it from cooling down as long as you're in the stealth that you received from using flank attack.

So why the discrepancy between the PC and PS4 versions? I can tell you with 100% certainty that it did not work this way on the PS4 prior to the patch, nor is there a patch note regarding any change to it. If Bioware is making balance changes that is fine, but this is most certainly a glitch.

You do destealth during the flank attack itself, though. So it's not like it's unpunishable and spammable with impunity. Also, you do need to wait 8 seconds, which, unless solo, is 8 seconds of your allies doing all the work. I think it's fine as is.

whatever you use to gain stealth doesn't begin its cool down until stealth ends.
As someone else said, if it didn't work like this you could have permanent stealth WITHOUT speccing for it/trying.
Working as intended

Except you can have permanent stealth; you just have to wait 8s. If you attack from the stealth granted by Flank Attack once the 8s cooldown has passed, you can Flank Attack, resetting the cooldown and gain stealth again. It provides an infinite loop if you are willing to wait 8s. That being said, no other skill works like you claim. Even Wall of Fire, which has a 32s cooldown and a 20s duration begins its cooldown when you cast the spell, not when the duration expires. This is how every skill in the game works save those that require having a target being hit to cause a cooldown. I respect your opinion but this is not working as intended unless every other skill is bugged.

I dare you.
Because I can name dozens where it works the same as it does in this game.

No, it's not limited to stealth, it's about having the cooldown refresh once the skill is activated despite having a current effect. Wall of Fire, Firestorm, Barrier, etc. all do not reset their cooldown just because the current effect has expired. Also, if you are in stealth granted by Flank Attack, have the skill ready again, activate Fire Flask breaking stealth, Flank Attack immediately resets its cooldown making it unusable. It has never worked this way prior to the patch.
Also, it did not work this way prior to the patch nor does it work this way for the PC. You make it sound like Bioware rebalanced this skill instead of just causing a new bug. If this is a balance change and they want to apply it to every platform and put it in the patch notes then I will just redo my build. Instead this is an obvious bug caused by the newest patch since it did not work this way previously and has never worked this way for the PC. You can try to justify this all you want but until it is a universal balance change, it is nothing more than a new bug.

I will double check for you but, I think you mis-misunderstood. Its the same on PC, PS4, and Xbox. Its a Common Code "issue" at this point.

This is correct.
it worked EXACTLY the same way pre-patch and anyone who says otherwise is making things up.
I havnt even played assassin post patch and I knew this is how it worked, so obviously it wasn't something that changed from the patch.

Yep, resets cooldown on PC. Same as all other platforms.
Although the stealth last longer than the CD of Flank Attack so its almost worth it to Flank Attack again and then do another move if you've already got if off cool down.
