Having already told the same joke over and over again isn't necessarily an argument for repeating it.

I think it's mostly the fact that Haven and Skyhold are pseudo Adrastian places. And also if the people in your army want to hook up they can do that with each other.
I kinda miss it too. But Inquisition is all about a fresh start and making the Dragon Age game they always wanted to make. If they have to let go of the Brothel so be it.
But maybe we will see Isabella and the Pearl in DA4.

Brothel is not politically correct.
DA:I seems to strive for certain political correctness, what with the Qun's modified opinion on female soldiers for Krem's benefit.
I think it's a bit childish personally, I support the right of everyone to act according to his or her sexual desires,
but I don't appreciate preachiness in my entertainment.

No, it didn't.
There is nothing inherently wrong with a brothel irl or in a video game. But the way it was implemented falls into the 'women as objects trope' like Chorra's Din in Mass Effect or the strip clubs in GTA.
I'd like to see it come back for nostalgia's sake but it's probably best it's not here this time around.

Uh, the Qun wasn't really modified. Krem lives like a man and identifies as one. The Warden fought like a man but still identified and may have acted as a woman, which is why Sten was confused. It's really easy to explain, actually.

I suppose you won't have a problem with it assuming it had male strippers as well?

The rule is not about your perceived sexual identity, but your physical gender.

This, you don't have to be a woman to be a prostitute.
My girlfriend and I loved the male Elven prostitute you talk to in DA2 in act one (trying to find the Orleansan dude's wife). We still have an in joke about his 'many talents.'
I mean I like the idea and the execution in DA2 and I loved visiting Isabella in the Pearl. But it does fall into the 'you can bang chicks in this game, bro!' Kind of novelty. It also, like I said, ties into the 'women as objects or scenery' trope a bit.
DAI is likely better for its exclusion. Better to focus on the relationships between companions or the environment or that the banter fires correctly lol.

Do you have some codex entries to that effect, or is this just your assumption based on one conversation with one individual in the Qun?

Skyhold having a brothel just wouldn't have fit with the Andrastian underpinnings of the Inquisition. I for one never thought much of the brothels anyway and certainly didn't miss them. As much as was cut from this game and some of the bugs I rather they work on that then to have taken time and resources to write in a brothel or to, in the future, write in a brothel. Even if the game were perfect and all they were "missing" was a brothel I'd be fine with that.
