I want BioWare to make a game where there's an all-male brothel.
But players won't know until they get in.
The reactions will be...
I'm dying just thinking about it

Dorian's side quest isn't an example of something being mature, it's an over used story arc made cliche in the modern world of 'daddy don't like me cause I like dudes'. if anything, it might be an example of poor writing. one of the few times we get cinematic mod with people talking in the game, and we get this? We also have Ironbull shouting about jacking off later while thinking about a dragon, or talking about how swords look like members every other sentence, and don't get me started on Sera, so I think bioware has already established how goddamn raunchy they'll gladly get.
Also, dismissing witcher 1's story line of actually investigating a brothel under the assumption they're vampires to find out they actually are is providing a reason to their existence. Let's not forget witcher 2's brothel owner purposely helping elves escape from human torture, hanging herself of fear once those people are captured. Or how hitman is almost assassinated by one such girl posing as some one who'd work at such establishments.
Yeah ? I don't know. Him leaving home/being shunned from his family because of his sexual preferences was something I could relate to. It my be "cliche" for you, but it's reality for many gays out there. As for Bull & Sera, they are so much more than rude characters ; so, yes, you can stop at their language. Just like you can stop at Vivienne bitchiness and Cassandra coldness. Now, they never displayed blatant misoginy/misandry, and I got to call Sera on her behavior towards elves, which is a much more deeper issue than what you might hear from her comments ; your companions are more than meet the eye. They're not perfect, they have flaws, and I like that. Which is another issue than brothels in Dragon Age
I did not dismiss Witcher's 1 brothel. I loved the Madame & the Werewolf storyline ; it was one bright spot in the grim reality of the town. You are talking about the vampires brothel, and here, you also have very distinct choices ; is Blue Eyes lying ? Is the brother, an ass, not a bit right about all of this ? I personally chose to save the vampires, and the logs of the quest were not very tender ; but that's the thing, in the Witcher. There is no such thing as a straight good choice-- which hurt the goody-two shoes I am.
I was actually picturing the brothel in Witcher 2, an empty place, safe for Margot, who is, I conceed, a bit fleshed out ; the rest is just ******. Also, I don't recall her saving elves, she is just a spy for Iorveth, and sleep with an elven girl as I understood it. I don't think it negates the fact that having a brothel in video games is largely treated as a thing to do for the sake of doing it, rather than for a statement. (I left AC out of it, as there is a bit of content for the Madame, and later Ezio's sister).
I don't think a brothel was really necessary, or would've added anything the game needed. It didn't even dawn on me that it lacked one till I came here and saw this thread.

we didn't need one in DA:O or DA2, doesn't mean there wasn't anything fun in it

I don't claim to know everything.
Maybe I'm wrong, maybe there are conflicting scientific opinions on this (most likely), or maybe this is some kind of misguided attempt to use science in order to give a reason for equality - which there is no need to IMO, you don't need science to support the idea that equality and fairness are good things.
Still, when I take a look around me (I don't claim that it's real science or anything), it seems to me that men are usually larger and stronger.
And then there is also the differences in hormones and genes. Most notably testosterone production, which is an anabolic steroid that causes increase in musculature.
Honestly I would've liked a brothel if only for the companion reactions.
The idea that the only reason Bioware chose not to include a brothel in this game is because of "PCness" strikes me as faintly ridiculous. If there's no particular reason for there to be a brothel in the game, why would they include it? Seems like every fantasy anything (movie, book, tv-show, game) has to include a brothel these days... supposedly because it's realistic. But there are a million realistic things Bioware could have chosen to include that they haven't, so if the basis of your argument is that brothels/prostitutes should be present for the sake of realism, you should be paying similar attention to those things.
Also, as a female gamer I'm happy about the lack of 'bewbs'-for-titillation. As often as I hear that "there was a male prostitute in x game/movie/show!", that's usually not the case. And even if there actually are male prostitutes around, the focus is always almost entirely on the female ones (more specifically, on their breasts/asses). Game of Thrones is a perfect example of this.
Just my two cents.
Their latest games all preach the same. They probably had staff meetings for months, only to decide should we show Cassandra's nipple or not. Hmm The Witcher does it and is immens popular... And let's include a African because you know, stuff...

I'm white but I think this was long overdue. Gotta say adding a little color to team whitebread isn't a bad thing.
Of course it is Hellbiter, but point me towards 1 more besides Madame de Fer.

Our glorious Knight-Commander of the Inquisition's Templars.

Ive never understood the issue vs sex in 18+ games. Or the statement 'Gaming is Growing up' Sex does happen you know. When did growing up = becoming puritan ?
As for the brothel , it wasn't really needed nor do i think it could be implemented , in any of the area's we visited. i'm more annoyed with the lack of 'Desire demons' more in a 'Why am i not fighting them' than in a 'where are the boobies' sort of way.
then there is the 8foot tall gray bloke.
honestly id like a bit more other races to. allong whith my chick dwarf.

right well they need to add one that's not a closed-off B

I miss the brothel.
My slutty Inquisitor has needs.
I can't really picture where they would have placed it, given the only city you visit is highly relegious and political and they didn't seem to make it a full city no where to place it also. It just wouldn't be in your face there given the game to many ways people could use it against you.
Doubt the PC police had anything to do with that choice, more where would it be. So best to leave it out and focus on other things.

There's absolutely nothing misogynistic (?) about people using their body for honest work.

Hold on highly religious and political... and you think they WONT have a brothel?

Not in the part of the city we see.
