I suppose it's also worth mentioning that both establishments seem to be run by women.

I don't disagree with your overall point, but this bit is meaningless. There were free black slave owners in the US back in the day, lots of them. Does that do anything to excuse the institution or climate? Likewise women can be quislings to patriarchy and misogyny; Sommers, Schlafly.

Who says those people in the brothels are being mistreated by their bosses? In term of Dragon Age, of course.

Honestly I wouldn't put those two in the same sentence. Sommers doesn't agree with a lot of modern feminism because of certain methods and arguments used by certain feminists (who are not even necessarily a majority within feminism). Schlafly opposes feminism, gender equality and lgbt rights, Sommers opposes non of these things as far as I am aware. Accusing her of being a "quisling to patriarchy and misogyny" which is essentially calling her a gender traitor because she doesn't subscribe to your brand of feminism is harsh to say the least. I am not sure how that sort of mentality is going to achieve anything positive.

Yeah, they really have nothing in common, Sommers critiques certain aspects of feminist ideology. Phyllis Schlafly thinks women should never leave the house, listen to everything their husbands and fathers say, and birth lots of babies, all without ever taking off their good Chrisitian smile. (Well every woman but herself of course.) You may not like or agree with Sommers but their's a MASSIVE difference.

.....deliberately quoting part of my comment out of context specifically the part after I used the word "essentially" to make it seem like I put words in your mouth. I did not accuse you of saying anything you didn't say I merely explained to you what your words "quislings to patriarchy and misogyny" Imply.  You know what the word you used refers to. It really is more or less the same as calling her a gender traitor all because she doesn't agree with you on a few issues.

Okay it was one comment, let's just drop discussion on Christina Sommers and what may or not have been said in regards to her shall we? The thread's already derailed enough turning it into an argument over Sommers is bound to get it locked.

No I didn't and if you are really as intelligent as I know you are then you already know that.

Whatever, it's not really that important anyway. I just thought your choice of wording was a bit much.

when you fling around words like these, i'm starting to believe you're a loony while also part time conspiracy theorist to such a degree it's unhealthy. Add to that, you bring up Sommers, who has an unholy amount of credibility just adds more fuel to the fire.

DA:I seems to strive for certain political correctness, what with the Qun's modified opinion on female soldiers for Krem's benefit.

No they didn't, because the Qun doesn't look at Krem as a woman.*sigh*

Krem: "I want to be a warrior."

The Qun: "Then you're a man."

Krem: "Ok."

*Krem cuts hair, copies manly mannerisms from male peers*

*The Qun is happy social order remains unspoiled by non-conformity*

The Qun is as backwards as always. They've always hated the idea that men and women can do anything.
