I have my go to combo, but I suspect there are more powerful combinations.

Here are some good ones I use;
Ice Mine (Vivienne) + Stonefist
Fire Mine + Pull of the Abyss ---> Immolate or Chain Lightning
Energy Barrage ---> Stonefist ---> Mighty Blow (When they are knocked down)
There are some really good ones.
Pull of the Abyss -> Fire Mine when everything is stacked is probably the most powerful one. I would imagine any other big aoe spell on top of Abyss works well.
fire mine --> pull of abyss --> stonefist --> spell purge is also a good combo, if you manage to do enough damage on stonefist to make targets to sleep. you will also end up the combo with almost full mana, and if you have a artificer in the party, you will be close to full refresh on skill cd too.
horn of valor --> pull of abyss --> wrath of heaven --> stonefist+ is also pretty good.
static cage+ --> walking bomb+ --> horror+ --> stonefist+ is also another one.
necro+templar+rift mage have the highest damage in aoe combos. 4th party member can be artificer, 2h warrior, s&s champion (with 2h templar warrior), or even an a tempest/assasin dw to kill anything left behind.
Static cage + pull of the abyss + immolate, all upgraded.
Pull is mainly there to ensure the mobs cluster in the center of the cage..
Each 1 second of burn counts for 1 hit giving another 50% electricity damage on top of the burn.. add in a chain lightning and you have a party.
My usual opener once I unlocked most of the Rift Mage skills against groups was:
Improved Pull of the Abyss > Improved Fire Mine > Auto Attack (for mana regen on a weakened target) > Improved Static Cage
After that it depends on what is left standing...
Energy Barrage is good if there is a high hit point target in the cage still as each hit will proc the cage. Stone Fist is good if anything is paralysed as it'll put them to sleep which you could then use Energy Barrage on after that to combo it into Nightmare, but you may miss the cage as it only lasts 8 seconds as you likely have to use Auto Attack to get some mana back and that'll break the sleep.
Of course the rest of the party using any AoEs they have just adds to the pain or even Focus abilities like Mark of the Rift, Firestorm, etc...also Sera + Lightning Flask + Improved Static Cage = Comedy Gold. Few things can withstand this level of abuse and it'll work on anything that can't resist the Pull so it's good on single targets as well.
For single targets that are ranged or immune to physical effects I use Stone Fist instead of Pull of the Abyss and then use either Energy Barrage if they move around a lot, or if your tank can get them to stand still for a few second drop a Fire Mine + Static Cage on them first then Energy Barrage. This should work on Dragons but they do like to bounce around a lot so Fire Mine can miss and the Static Cage won't hold them either, but if they get hit while inside it, it'll still proc.
RM exclusive?
Prolly PotA/Stone fist -> CL -> dispel
PotA + chaotic focused fire mine beats that by a long shot though. However you'd need barrier to do that on your own as RM, and you don't have the mana to do it immediately so probably smth like PotA -> CL (regen mana) -> Dispel (regen mana) -> Barrier -> Fire mine.
If you want smth exclusively broken single target though you just stack 4/5 hits HB mastercrafts and go with Static cage -> EB spam though flashpoint. You'll need to open up with smth like stone fist + some other damaging spell to get mana going though. Does like 10000% weapon damage per cast on average. The only thing that is missing for a mage here is pincussion which would've made this as ridiculous as TC.
