I have this problem too. I don't understand how they thought this would be a successful marketing strategy. If people aren't playing their multiplayer then asking us if we've crafted any multiplayer items isn't going to encourage us to do so. Now I know that the MP was created by a separate dev team than the SP game but I definitely think that the money spent on it would have better contributed to the SP game and any DLC that they decide to come out with. The problem with DLC as I see it these days is that only in a handful of games is an appropriate amount of effort put in. What would have been cool instead of an MP option is the ability to actually build all of Skyhold. If they wanted my money they would have released that DLC already. I'd spend five bucks on that. Or new locations to the game to mention a more extravagant addition. I would like to see some Qunari locations or a Tavinter one or something. But that is a slightly high order.
But yeah, if you want to advertise a feature of your game, let the feature of your game advertise itself. Throwing in a MP mode in a single player tactical game, where in SP mode you pause the game frequently as an element of combat, probably wasn't the best idea. It fit well with ME because you didn't have to alter the combat experience exponentially. Not so here. IT just feels out of place and has fans wondering why more resources weren't put into the game proper. Another good example is Iron Bull's Companion Mission, the Demands of the Qun. The ship scene...Looked like it would be better at home in Origins than Inquisition.
Love the SP experience though. Don't want this post to be all negative xP
