Here is what I would love to see..

A trilogy that starts with a polished version of Origins

The Hero of Ferelden does not die and the story continues with him. All things DA2 is dropped and the story is told in another way with the Hero of Ferelden,

The 3rd movie is Inquisition and the Inquisitor is a very religious figure that the Hero of Ferelden is sworn to protect.

Throughout all of this Iron Bull is replaced by a mix of him and Sten Qunari named Sten (I like Iron Bull a lot, but like Sten more, so just give us a cooler Sten with horns).

Never I hope. If it isn't straight to blue ray anime or an animated series then nothing at all. The source material would get butchered in live action.

NO.

NO, NO, NO, NO, NO!

NooOOoOOOOOoOO

NOPE NOPE NOPE.

NEVAR.

NEVAR EVAR.

GO AWAY PLS.

.......................

In all seriousness though.... MAKER NO

Sorry, but that storyline sounds atrocious. Like, why omit DA2 when it was crucial to the Mage/Templar tensions that led up to the vote at the White Spire? Why would the Commander of the Grey have any business defending the Inquisitor?

More importantly...

In this kind of RPG, a movie in itself is a terrible idea. Movies, like books, require predefined protagonists and storylines. Given that my warden was a female, I'd hate to see a DA movie with a male Warden - not because he's male, but because he's not my warden. Then we have the varying origin stories. Finally, the choices that Warden makes have the potential to be vastly different from mine. Given that everyone's personal world state is different, I don't see many people getting behind a DA movie that isn't expanded universe type stuff. This is assuming that most people would want a movie that somewhat reflects their own playthroughs/Wardens.

P.S. Even if they were going to do a DA movie, it would likely use BioWare's personal canon - a female Dalish elf who performed the Ultimate Sacrifice. There goes your little fantasy :P.

I'm not sure why people would be opposed to the idea.

I think it would be best as a anime movie or series

It'd be about on par with Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter movies, and actually be a detriment to what is already not a huge a franchise. They most definitely would make a horrible movie if they felt it would be profitable enough, but because it's not a huge franchise, it wouldn't be made.

I'd like for a movie set somewhere in Thedas. Anywhere really. Seeing kirkwall rebuild from a street level could be fun to watch. Movie could be shown from the point of view of the most successful thieves and bandits of the city rising up into positions of authority. The reason I think this would be good is because in large scale, city wide sieges most of the cities wealth is looted or burnt, and if that city survives the seige the slate would be wiped clean and most of the powerful people are either impoverished or dead.

Here is what I would love to see..

All of this sounds very familiar... I feel like I played some similar games, and this iron bull character... where have I seen that before?

I wouldn't be against a film which takes place in Thedas, but preferably in a time period long before or after the games. Definitely not any direct adaptation. And certainly not any of the possibly variable canon (my Warden is a she, and died, but my canon is no less valid).

I think an original story taking place in Thedas could be interesting. I don't need any crazy world-altering epic, though. It could be the story of a thief finding herself in the wrong place and time and getting caught up in an apostate's escape attempt from templars, and together they end up... I don't know. Saving a town from red lyrium poisoning by pulling off the Greatest Con Ever. Or it could be the story of a band of Legionnaries who accidentally come across a previously unknown Thaig and solve a mystery about government cover-ups and forbidden history while fighting darkspawn and politics. Or. Or. Or.

Thedas is rich, there's room for other stories. Just don't mess up my canon.

Game of Thrones is a set story. It's not like it changes with each reader. An adaptation of any DA game is just something that shouldn't happen.

Like I said, I'm fine with expanded universe - a movie telling an all new story in Thedas would actually pretty cool. But I don't ever want an adaptation of DA, especially since the protagonist is my character that I made. If we were talking about the Witcher or something else with a non player-created protag, then that would be different. But BioWare games all have character creation, which changes **** up quite a bit.

that didn't stop Game of Thrones from been the most watched show since the sopranos, did it? You see, adapting a book to TV series i much like adapting dragon age... both DAO and the got books (or any books of similar depth and complexity) leave a huge amount of detail up to each individual readers world view and imagination.

So long as the Hero is a redheaded female Cousland married to Alistair and Queen of Ferelden in the end? And Sten is out of the movies because I never liekd him? I think we ran into some problems here. It is a very, very VERY bad idea to base a movie or series exactly on the games.People often wish for it, but in the end they will surely be dissapointed. I would, because surely the Warden would be Generic Male Fantasy Hero number 1598. Next please

However, what COULD work out, a decent budget being mandatory here, is a TV-series a la Game of Thrones, just with a bit less ****** and politics, and more fighting. It could take place during an earlier time before the games and tell a somewhat similar story as Origins, or take inspiration from it.

Like: One hero has lost his family to intrigue (villain-alarm!) and is conscripted into the Wardens, where he learns to fight, we meet Darkspawn in the deep roads etc. Another side-story would be about a young female circle mage going through her harrowing, fleeing the circle after this, getting hunted by templars etc, until their paths all cross. Throw in some elves and dwarves (and avoid fantasy-cliches number 3078 and 4598) and it could be awesome. And damn expensive if it doesn't want to look ridiculous...

This. Why do we have to keep crossing movies and games? They just don't mix.

that, or generic female fantasy empowerment #1598 which isn't any better to be honest...

It would be easier with Mass Effect, and even that story would work better as a 3 seasons series (since there's too much to tell for just 3 movies).

Game of Thrones is a well written, best selling book series. So is Harry Potter and LoTR.

Take away the gameplay and DA is barely watchable TV.

Certainly wouldn't keep me in a constant state of suspense and intrigue as the Game of Thrones series, but DA is better than "barely watchable".

There is a DA movie already, it is called Dragon age: Dawn of the seeker.
