Of course they do, but it's random when left to the AI, and many times I want to set up a combo but they fire off their ability too soon and then I have to wait for cooldown :(

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the tactics are fine for some folks, but for folks like me who want to fine-tune our tactics, the current tactics system is poor compared to previous DAs.

Yes, that's true. I could probably solo this game if I wanted to, so to me it's not important what the 3 other people in the party are up to. ;)

Glad you understand :)

On a positive note, I'm glad the combat in DAI does allow you to solo if you have the right skill rather than just the right stats. Some people don't like the general direction that Bioware has been heading towards (like more action based gameplay), but I quite enjoy their hybrid system - if I want old school I have Divinity for that. But DAI - I want action (also why I want advanced tactics so I can have good strategic depth without compromising on the action!)

Now if I can just enable mouselook and bind parry/block/shieldwall to my right mouse button...

(without glitching up tac cam using an external program)

What I like

-Graphics

-World

-Characters

-Crafting

What I don't like

-fetch quests, fetch quests and then some more fetch quests

-bugs/unoptimized mess

-Amors for Qunari/Elf (alomst every armor in game was made for human and the fit to other races[IF they had time] that why we have so little armor options for Elf and Qunari)

-Multiplayer (its a joke, the net code is a joke)

-Behaviour UI another joke.

-tactical cam on PC (made by PC players for PC players, yeah right)

-No English text for east Europe? yeah **** you to.

-only 8 active skills? thanks consols but no thanks.

Al in all, above average game, it just have to many problems pulling it down to be enjoyable the way it was advertised. And DA:I getting GOTY was a great joke.

Actually the AI is quite workable.  The more I learn to use it.  The more accept this isn't the same game.  The real trick is setting up the abilities to disable a lot of things.  So your companions don't blow their wad and kill all their stamina.  Also set them to follow themselves or guard themselves.   For example, don't allow revival to be a allowable AI skill. Save it so if you need, it will be there.
