I'm going to assume that this topic has already come up but since I've been playing the game, I've avoided this channel in the forums.

Anyways, despite the problems with DA:2, I really LOVED Hawke as the PC, the character development, personality, everything.  I also think that DA:I would be more fitting with Hawke as the inquisitor when considering he/she fought Cory in the previous game.  Outside of Shepard, Hawke is my most beloved game character and to be honest, I'm kinda sad that BioWare didn't continue with his/her story for DA:I as well.

Any of you feel the same way?

Naw. As much as I love Hawke, she needs a vacation. All the heroes can't be everywhere for everything.

Nope. I adore my Hawke but she is a horrible leader and not proactive at all, she would just lead the Inquisition to ruin as she just cared about coin, her friends and family, persona power and Isabelas bosom.

Hawke is my favorite protagonist but nah. Girl doesn't need to be the protagonist again. She needs a permanent break from all this crap.

No Hawke's story was done, it was time for a new hero just as I expect the Inquisitor will be too busy cleaning up Corypheus's, the Templars and mages messes as well as running the inquisition to play a role in the next game.

Pretty much agree with House, and it's a reason why I love Hawke as a protagonist. She's basically a overrated Hero throughout Thedas who did a lot less than people think she did. DA:I paid attention to this and showed it to us through Hawke's dialogue.

I honestly think it would work. Hawke is there when the whole rebellion thing started, Hawke had a history with Cory. His conversation with members of the Inquisition would certainly be more interesting.

Imagine, Carver with the Templar, Bethany with the Circle or Grey Wardens. It will definitely give some of the quests more weight. I have little reason to seek the Templar in DAI but if Carver was there... sorry RedCliff. I will feel a sense of urgency to help and rescue the Wardens if Bethany is with them. (and this sense of urgency and weight is what lacks badly in DAI)

The downfall of Hawke is that he does not fit the "Make your own hero who can be any race and origin". theme of Dragon Age. That and eavesdropping quest and cut & paste environment. Too bad.

Really Josie would probably have to get Cullen to drag her from the tavern in Skyhold to do judgments if she was Inquisitor.

It would not work though as Hawke is a horrible leader. Hawke failed to protect her own  city and familly, you really expect Hawke to be able to lead a group like the inquisition?

I'd have loved Hawke as the Inquisitor.  Even as just the Human Inquisitor, that way people could still be non-humans.

Nah my inquisitor is Dalish. ;)

I won't ruin the side story of that happens on the war table if you're dalish but it's pretty much made this my favourite backstory in video gaming when you combine it Briala being in charge of Orlais.

Absolutely not. Actually if there was one character that should have never returned to the Dragon Age world was Hawke. Every time I do the Grey Warden quest in every DAI mission I have had, I went ahead and killed Hawke. Worse game, worse protagonist. Worse all together. Never want to see Hawke anywhere ever in Dragon Age. Don't even mention Hawke ever again. He just needs to seize to exist.

Not really, I mean I love Hawke, but the poor guy deserves a break.

Not to mention he's not exactly the leader or hero everyone in Thedas wants him to be.

My Vashoth is a horrible inquisitor. He wants to be friends with his soldiers, is sleeping with one of them, and almost chooses who handles what Operation at random. If he hadn't literally been handed the position with hundreds of desperate eyes watching him, he'd never be a leader.

Hawke couldn't do worse.

No, I like having a new protag.

But I would love to play as Hawke again, but that's only because adventuring as her Merrill, Bethany and Varric sounds like fun, whatever Weisshaupt is up to.

Hawke is the best Dragon Age protagainist.  Go write fan fiction if you want a Mary Sue.

Specifically Hawk? No, not so much... but about an Inquisitor with a defined back story and personality, yea, I'd have preferred that. I also would have been quite happy with Hawk as a permanent companion, complete with his/hr own story missions.
