Has anybody found a good way to get some poison kills?

I put poison weapon and poison cloud on an alchemist and got all the upgrade perks related to poison, and I'm not making much progress.

One tip I have is: put an AoE dagger on your alchemist, activate poison weapon, and do a flank attack. That will poison the whole mob and leave you cloaked so you can run off.

Unfortunately poison does so little damage that it is rare that even lowest tier mooks die from it.

In particular if you are not soloing, your teammates will usually kill everybody.

I found that you can safely skip putting poison cloud in a slot. Just perk up right through it and get the next perk which lets enemies that died while poisoned cause a poison cloud.  Then use poison weapon.

After several matches I had ~30 poison kills.  In the same time I got more than double that in dagger kills.  Somebody dying while poisoned is apparently not enough, they have to die from the poison.

Sigh.

AoE daggers don't change abilities. You're just going to have to be careful and do what bluekitsune said. Use toxic cloud.

AoE Daggers DO change abilities... for Assassin's Hidden Blades, it becomes AoE. Try it out yourself.

I'm having a decent amount of success on a poison Hunter build on Perilous.  It's slow-but-steady going...but I don't have to massively change my gameplay style in order to chase the challenge.  That said, it sounds like soloing Routine is the fastest way to get this.

Ah man you're right! I wish I would actually test things like this. In that case AoE daggers are the best daggers you could ever possibly get! Keep using them.

To anyone else: disregard this post.

If you are itching for more ways to apply poison you can throw Elemental Mines while you have Poisoned Weapons activated. It poisons mobs tagged by any of the mines and counts toward poison kills as well. However the mines must be triggered while the Poisoned Weapon buff is still active on your character, once it wears off of you, your mines no longer apply the effect.

I saw that the other day and I just figured there were some green flasks in the pile I had never noticed before.

I was really excited reading the first half of your post, that was news to me.

Then the second half bummed me out.

And you only need one curved or aoe damage type dagger to get the effect. Just has to be In the left slot.
