MESSAGE POPULAIRE !

I'm heartbroken to write this after fully enjoying the first two games I am halfway through this one after nearly 100 hours poured into it and I just cannot take anymore. I was so excited to finally get my hands on the game. but the reality is never the same as the dream is it?

The problem is it doesnt feel like a dragon age game. It feels like warcraft with flashy colours. A single player MMO. Respawning enemies which I hate. Stupid overpowered enemies and area gating. The lack of  information in the manual besides the basics.

It took me about 6 days to work out how to use guard because you didnt explain it properly in the tutorial... HOLD THE BUTTON DOWN FOR GUARD would be the appropriate phrase you are looking for Bioware.

Again with the characters. Dorian was about two steps away from singing show tunes and asking where Emerald city was. We get it Dorian you're gay.  Why would anyone outside a romance option feel the need to tell anyone?

The conversation with Krem is another example I felt perfectly fine being completley ignorant until you felt the need to point out that all was not right. Are the trans gender community appeased now? have they stopped writing you threatening letters because you have made it blatantly obvious there is a transgender in there? Oh good I can get on with my life now.

And what in gods name have you guys got against storage? If you are going to have that many items in a game do you not think a chest might be handy? Again, it would be nice to have the choice.

Why include romance options for people who are not attracted to you? You know theyre going to say no so why bother?

The stupid ****** pop culture references....

The bugs... so many bugs.

So what did Bioware get right? Atmosphere. I genuinely felt a little bit afraid when I was in the mansion and the fade etc. the scenery was amazing the music was top notch. Good use of the frostbite engine although it did make everyone look a bit sweaty.

So yeah I'm done with dragon age until it stops becoming an MMO. I have no problem with open world but baldurs gate had the same thing and they didnt need  to stick respawning enemies in there. Even a take over territory system would have been preferable to that.

On to Mass Effect 4 I guess.

You poor thing, so much fear to accept change. I guess you still have the same style you had 10-20 years ago.

My heart goes out to you as this is an ever changing world we live in. It saddens me when you cannot appreciate all the work that went into the space and how many times you can actually play through with finding new things to explore.

I did 3 play through's with 280 hours logged into saves before the patch 2 corrupted them and made me Rage.

But I am kinda glad they did because it forced me to start a new character and this time I am doing a 100% completion and I must say its SOOO DAMN GOOD!.

I am still finding new area's and quest and Items that i missed each play through. Just keeps continuing to amazing me.

I love the new Dragon Age, the More I play it the More I enjoy it. I am looking forward to all of the DLC and new patches that fix and add content/bugs.

Thanks Bioware, we seem to have a Love hate relationship but it's what keeps this game exciting for me. Every time I start to hate you for one of the bugs or things about the game, you get me to love you again with the Pleasant Surprises :)

Lack of instructions in games is a major pet peeve of mine. I'm beyond so sick and tired of lazy ass developers leave games in this unfinished condition because a bunch of clowns are all whining, on how the slightest bit of instructions are considered hand holding. And anyone that goes against the masses and complains about it, are attacked by trolls on the forum, and called names.

Games are not school work and any moron that says use an outside source to look up what is supposed to be explained in the game is an idiot.

I buy a game to play a game, not to learn how to play it or turn it into a school project requiring looking up basics for hours on end and interrupting my game play.

You know it amazes me that no matter how many of these type of posts i read theres still new things that get brought up and im have to say, ya that too.

It amazes me just how messed up this game is and how many people apologize for it and make excuses for it.

I was the same way, I couldnt wait to get this game.

Now that i have I cant even bring myself to finish it.

This is an rpg game with most of the rpg elements taken away.

Most of your options taken away. Your customization of your character taken away. The control over how your character even looks is gone. (ie armor)

I mean hell when we have to tell developers to please include something as simple as a storage chest you know something is wrong.

The side quests are nothing but MMO style fetch quests, even the specialties are fetch quests.

All the actual things that get you involved in the game, the things you actually choose for yourself have been either taken out, controlled by the game itself, or made to be less than what they were before.

Its annoying and disheartening.

Warcraft were RTS games, or did you mean World of Warcraft? still nothing like DA:I. Also, 6 days to learn guard? no wonder you're ranting on the internet, I should type slowly so you can understand. There are two (2) ways to use skills, tap, or hold. You just raged and started tapping the button trying to guard...for...six (6)...days, I just imagined a monkey trying to fit a banana peg into a square hole, you're funny, you're a funny guy, thank you, and Merry Christmas.

What Harvest_King said, "MERRY CHRISTMAS"

I mean come on, there is always going to be those who throw the biggest temper tantrums over not getting what THEY want. I can almost guarantee that you play 1 map of counter strike, 1 map of BF4 and 2 maps of COD and say your an RPG master. You can say this isn't an RPG all you want and yet it won GOTY............ I guess the people who get paid to Rate games and give the awards Just have poor choices.(sarcasm)

Thanks again for the whine and cookies.

Yes people who dont like what was done to their favorite franchise are monkeys....

I feel like a monkey...

A monkey that had a bunch of bananas that were nice and fresh and that i could eat at any time.

Now with this game i feel like all those banans were taken away and i was given a half eaten banana back that wasnt so fresh.

Please forgive some of us monkey for actually getting upset and throwing the banana back.

This is your problem. I made the same mistake, although not quite as badly.

For the story, this game plays the best if you finish it in about 70–80 hours.

Oh yes...yes we can say its not an rpg.

It not an rpg when alot of your choices for abilities have been taken away.

Its not an rpg when your ability to control your character stats has been taken away.

Its not an rpg when armor has been reduced to simply clothing with a few style changes.

Its not an rpg when people with certain play styles have had theirs taken completely out.

Its not an rpg when you your choices are limited.

Its not an rpg when you have taken huge steps back from previous games.

Its not an rpg when most of your quests are simply go here and get this, fetch quests.

etc etc etc.

I swear people are fricken blind when it comes to their favorite developers and game franchises.

To say this is a great rpg in the line of others in this series is an insult even to DA2 which we can all agree was half baked.

(and i know i will get flack for saying its not an rpg. Yes i know it still technically is because you are playing a role. I was simply trying to get a point across that so much has been taken out or minimized that its insulting almost to call it a Dragon Age game.)

Dragon Age Inquisition, unlike previous Bioware games, offers too much freedom it seems. People are grinding in this game when they don't actually have to (seriously, focus on the main/companion quest lines, treat other objectives as optional, stop farming, stop grinding if you don't like it)

Yes the collection quests are tedious but they are optional.

Also lets say you need elfroot, you can spend your gameplay session in two ways:

1) Running around bored collecting elfroots, grinding and farming mobs like an MMO, not getting anywhere.

2) Doing quests, having fun, and then selling off the loot you don't need and then buying elfroot cheap.

Which way would you prefer?

Well done Good sir!

Well Done!

That is how my parent's like their steaks, I prefer mine medium rare, but hey we are all entitled to our own opinion's and Taste.

Some said Fable 2 was awesome, I loved Fable 1, but hated the rest. DAO was good, lots of choices but so Tunneled into no open area exploring. This is not 1999 anymore and there are new changes as we can see from DA:O, DA2 and now DA:I. Some like more then others, as did I. I think what they did with this game is Amazing. But again, That is just my opinion. Go on and say I am just a Bioware fan because I am, yet I never played Mass effect 3 nor finished half of 2, although I plugged in over 1000 hours in DAO and DA2 with mods and all. Great games, something you keep forgetting though is Change. Not everything can be Exactly how You Like it and if it is Others will hate it for the same reason you hate DAI.

Change is fine, change is great, you expect change. Alot of people who have complaints with DAO dont want 1990's back. Though the music was alot better then...lol

What we dont want is for things we had and liked to be taken away and told how much better it is because we took these things away from you.

Games are subjective, of course, but theres certain things that cant be denied.

This game has less choice, less freedom, less abilities, less customization, things completely removed, and has been made to be more of an action game than the other games in the series. Just like ME was. And some people dont like that.

They took the Frostbyte engine which was designed for Small Shooting games and Used it to make a Better Dragon Age World. I think what they accomplished was very very good indeed. So to start from scratch with that and then them even Posting that they will be adding more of what they wanted to add before launch, that gives a pretty self explained reason why they Didn't add in as much content as DA:O and DA2 models, but I'm not a bioware employee so I don't know what I am talking about.

They also said this about DA2. They said, and we knew, they were rushed to get the game out. That they wanted to add more and they would.

What happened with DA2??

Ya some more content was added, but none of the issues with the game were addressed or resolved. Theres was just a few extra quests and characters thrown in.

And thats not the answer. They need to fix the game first, give back all that was taken out, before even considering to add extra quests or missions or storylines.

Well given your entitled attitude, you won't be missed. But I think we both know you will be back. No one who actually gives up on a franchise is going to make a grande statement about it in hopes of gaining attention. That's all you want.

And as a straight person myself, I had no issue with Dorian or Krem. What, are we supposed to pretend that only heterosexual people exist in the world? You act as if Bioware is throwing it in your face, there was no repeat of DA2 where anders always hit on a male hawke. Dorian brings up his orientation as part of his quest in a way that made sense for the story. Krem, you have to actually seek out that information. Get over it. Furthermore this content is 100% avoidable.
