I've found a couple of items that give an x percentage in terms of getting a mastercraft on armor or weapons, 10 to all stats, but I haven't gotten it once. I know saving and reloading to exploit the percentage chance won't work as bioware put a stop to that, but are these even worth using? I mean, in comparison to fade touched gear anyway. 10 to all stats is fantastic, but I'd really rather not waste crafting material as is, especially leather.
So I haven't gotten a single mastercraft success yet

10% to all stats.. not 10.. 10%
Personally I prefer X% to do Y.. more reliable I find. 5 guard per hit or 3.4 extra fire resistance? 10% chance for 100% weapon damage chain lightning or 0.9 extra dexterity and cunning..

My personal favourite mastercraft has been Guard on Hit. My mage often has full guard thanks to that; let’s me play with the tactics a bit and not worry about being so squishy.

Yeah I did some mastercraft guard enchantments for Iron bull and with some defensive abilities he's a dps machine and doesn't crumple like paper. It's awesome.
I wanted to craft some on my daggers for my rogue but I haven't been able to find better schematics than what I have now.

From what people gathered the change to actually succeed is fixed on when it drops. So best thing to do is experiment, find the one that works and then reload. Use the ones that are a dud on tier 1 masterwork stuff to get rid of them and use the one that works on the stuff you want. Unfortunately there isn't anything better to do atm. The RNG can be really frustrating when it comes to this masterwork.
If not the best way is to find the Essence of Perfection, which gives a 100% success rate. There is one in the entire game, Use that one on your best dragon bone weapon (For example, I used one on a dragon bone Seeer Staff) for most effect. As a crafting item it's use IMO is limited to weapons. Because that 10% extra dps on your weapons means a big boost to all your skills.

I have crafted 3 successful Mastercraft during my current playthrough, but I remember that at one point I was struggling hard getting one done, until I had decided to give up, play a few more hours (maybe a few more tens of hours) and the next time I tried, I got it right away.
Some people claim that you must have a number of unsuccessful Mastercraft for each successful one (crafting junk and say you get a mastercraft on the 5th try, then you know the 5th try will always be a garanteed mastercraft). Personally I have never let one unsuccessful item happen and save it, across all my playthroughs, I just reload and then I go do something else in the game.
One room at Still Ruins (right side of the main hall, requires a rogue to unlock) on the Western Approach has unlimited mastercraft item (a type of wood, I forgot the name) which gives 40% mastercraft change. You can farm it infinitely (leave at least 1 item inside the chest, then reload the area), so you can keep on trying your Mastercraft without fear of wasting resources,
But honestly, I would advise not spending too much of your time attempting it. It is too stressful and the 10% increment has little benefit, particularly towards the end of the game when enemies are too easy.
