Or Save/Load via controllers. I find it hard to use Keyboard/Mouse controls now after 230+ hours.
* In saving and reloading at the Dragon Chests in Hinterlands, i have found the Helm of the Inquisitor Schematic, aswell as Dalish Warrior Armor (Tier 2). However, im just trying to find the Hood Schematic tbh. In every like 5-7 reloads i find a schematic.

it doesn't work in cradle but i have had it work in hinterlands and emprise on console
Uh no more farming for me. Cheat engine beats it all. No point in wasting hours on reloading...
On xbox1 i farm valeskas watch(warden ruins in emprise du lion) for t3's and gold but after level 14 and i havent had any problems with the save/load farming
Also i tend to only farm emprise and the temple in forbidden oasis(for the rune crafting)

Don't know, nothing works to me to refresh the chest.
I play on the Xbox One and a save/reload doesn't work for me, however, I've found that I can simply load from the Auto Save instead and the chest refreshes every time. I stood in front of the Hinterlands chest and waited for an Auto Save (should happen once a minute if you just stand there) then proceeded to load from that save, chest refreshes and if a schematic I want is in it, I grab it (making sure you leave at least one item inside) then wait for another Auto Save. If there's nothing that I want I just load from the Auto Save and look again. I had just about every Tier 2 schematic in about 2 hours. I would have quit earlier but like everyone else I was waiting for the Helm of the Inquisitor to pop up. Of course it was one of the last items I got.
By the way, I tried this same method at the Tier 3 chest in Valamaar and it didn't work. Something about being inside a dungeon I guess. I had to leave Valamaar and come back in order for the chest to reload. Wasn't worth it. Loading from the Auto Save also worked at the Haven chest near Cassandra.
Isn't it always the case that the item you want is one of the last to spawn because it was all you were looking for? Once you have it you stop.

No. It becomes available after you loot the key in Forest Villa, in Hinterlands.
Fast forward to 2 min.
This is the best spot, imo. Not only do the chests spawn tier 2 schematics- but there is a decent supply of obsidian around the chests. Each run there I was picking up 8-10 obsidian as well as schematics and loot. Tier 2 metals early in the game makes getting to Skyhold a breeze.
Where do I farm for the best cloth for making armors?
Emprise du lion and hissing wastes from Red Templar or Venitori. the save load trick can also work on their spawn locations, even if you clear them out
Or buy the cloth from the Black Emporium. Costs more money- saves more time.
