You should have taken Origins out of your analysis of the series and everyone on here would be praising you as lord baby jesus.
except DA:I has been received pretty well even here

And yet I've already shown you that the seamless cinematic presentation of dialogue was around before mass effect. It wasn't a new idea. You've failed to show that influence. But the way its presented is different. Ultima used keywords, than other games found a new way to presnet dialogue with full dialogue, Mass Effect comes along and finds a way to present dialogue in a more cinematic fashion.
I never even attributed all ideas to mass effect in the first place, only that they found a way to present dialogue more cinematically and seamlessly, which influenced the rest of the industry.

No, not a new idea.
It was executed better, however, in the past ten years.

......are you on the same forum as me?
Back out and look at the topic titles of the most popular topics in every subforum...
yeah..there is 5+ threads about how horrible an aspect of the game is for every 1 that is slightly praising it/saying it's not way worse than Origins.

Forum=/=Mass consensus.
And yet the Kinect remains a feature still offered by Xbox.
Innovating = The act of changing or expanding upon by adding new ideas, methods, or products.
So yes, if they expanded on a system already in place. They innovated. Putting in new methods and ideas.
Not really. I can actually say that Deus Ex paraphrased them as well, since Adam has a bigger line than whats shown. It was more of a summary, not the full line Jansen says. Remember, th eline is expalining an emotion tone or plot choice on the wheel. Dialogue boss battles, now thats an innovation built upon by Mass Effect's system. More companies should try this.

The majority of the complaints I see are people who are lazy and want everything handed to them.
I think the main issue here is that this game doesn't feel like Dragon Age, something was lost and I can't quite put my finger on it. The spirit of this fanchise died with this game, it no longer feels unique or different, it just feels generic.

yeah so? The general consensus across the board is fairly positive
Already called a Mod in here because this isn't an attempt to have a debate about likes/dislikes in a constructed manner, it's basically someone voicing their opinion in a nonconstructive manner and attacking anyone that has an opinion that differs.

Hmm I don't necessarily think they are lazy, but I do agree that I don't think all of these complaints are valid
.

Okay. We have a different definition of positive.
The real problem I find with this thread is that it doesn't so much start off trying to establish why Dragon Age as a franchise is bad, but rather that it's inferior to Mass Effect, which is obviously not really the same thing.

I am getting that feeling as well, despite the more emphasis on religion in this game.

Because it isn't bad, its just not great.
The tone of this discussion is hostile and off-topic half of the time. We are done here.

Well honestly in terms of Characters and overall over arching plot the Mass Effect series is better. Dragon Age Origins is one of my favorite games but as a series Mass Effect just holds up better.
