I have recently decided this games multiplayer is garbage and I'm done with it. I figured why the hell not chug through the single player.  Because of this any info...no matter how basic it is to you might be helpful to me and I would appreciate it.

So I'm playing a dagger rogue.  Went to Val Royeoux and bought some plans for sacrificial daggers...they're doing their thing 188 dmg and I got the heal on kill blah blah.  Thing is when I bought them I didn't know if they were garbage or better than what I had or not.  Is it possible to check the stats on the equipment before you buy the schematic?

There is no salvaging for parts/materials like the MP?

How do I know what schematics are good?  Just the price and if its the first time I've seen them?

Also when and how do I get my secondary profession? I am really missing some good skills I had in MP and I'd like to rush and get it.

Don't go by price. I've had several instances where I bought a higher priced schematic only to realize it's just a different model to a schematic I bought earlier that does just as well. As for secondary professions, they open up at Skyhold. You'll need to check the War Table for the mission, but it's instantaneous. Once you select it, three trainers will come to Skyhold to 'train' you. You have to pick the discipline you want from them.

Thank you.

How do you choose which schematics you buy?

Honestly? I save and then go back to either Haven or Skyhold to check how good they are. If they aren't as good as before then I reload and get others I might want and repeat the process. Sadly it isn't very good or worth the hassle most of the time. :/ Finding one good schematic though is worth it, but the hassle is just a pain.

That is an excellent way off doing it.

Adding on, going by the tier is usually pretty good to get a general estimate on how good the schematic is... That said, I don't remember if tiers show when purchasing, they definitely do when they show up as loot. If you don't mind using exploits, frankly, the best schematics are those you can farm from The Still Ruins or Sulevin's Cradle (the former is unlocked much earlier, but requires the Deft Hands, Fine Tools perk). I've gone from T1 straight to T3 equipment for some weapons/equipment using that.

As far as purchasing, there are only really two shops that give good endgame-worthy T3 schematics (Hissing Wastes shop for armor, and Suledin Keep shop for weapons), so I usually try to reach those locations as soon as possible, ideally with the item discount perks unlocked, as they are somewhat pricey.
