I've been looking for these shards. Haven't found a way to get to the topmost levels.

You need to be more specific if you want help. In what map are you missing shards?

I can only assume that you mean the Forbidden Oasis, since it is the only map that I know of that has a lot of shards in really high places that have really annoyingly obscure paths to find. The only ones in high places that I know of in the Hinterlands are around the Grand Forest Villa, but these are easy enough to get to once you clear out the ridiculously gargantuan hammer-wielding warriors. Anyway, in the Forbidden Oasis, I'm pretty certain that besides some Inquisitor parkour, you have to have a mage reassemble a bridge (or two I can't remember).

Is there really a point in getting all of them? I know that there's a place in the western approach with a hidden door that only opens up after you got all of them, but I dunno if the hours upon hours is worth getting them.

This is the one I haven't gotten yet. Trying to jump up there with my KB & M, is not going very well at all.  :P  And I do want to get it since I want to open all those doors they lead to...make a door, and I want to open it.  :)

For those who have trouble getting the shard in Shayna's Valley in the Hinterlands:

Use a female human or an elf character. These have an easier time not slipping off the narrow rock pillars. The most difficult jump is when you're about half up, there's a gap between two rock pillars you need to jump across. Once over that, it's pretty much two or three regular jumps up to the shard.

Some of the shards invovle jumping and climbing puzzels.

Also some spots on the map exist on two levels, so it might be abve or below where you think it is.

I spent way too much time last night gathering all the shards from their %#$&@! locations so I could get into the temple and get the achievement. I also spent way too much time last night cursing whoever placed them in some of those ^%*&@# locations and thinking dark and hateful thoughts about high places and hidden paths.

And then I went to the Forbidden Oasis and I'm still having to pick up shards. ^#$&!*@.

Mostly you need to find a way to climb or jump to the hard-to-reach places. It takes time and effort, so maybe just collect the easier to reach shards when you're running around doing other stuff and save the hard ones for when you feel like hating yourself and every time you ever thought you had a good idea.

I pasted the map in my post., No idea what happened.

It's the last 2 or 3 shards in the oasis. 1 directly above the 2nd camp. I'm running a female fighter.

Trying to paste again.

No idea why the pasting failed again. I don't have a URL, My Media doesn't let me browse to my desktop.

There were at least a couple that reminded me a bit of getting datacrons in SWTOR though not nearly as obnoxious as some of those were.

If your in the Hidden Oasis, make sure you have a mage in the party.  A couple of the shards can only be gotten with a mages ability to energize stuff.  Without knowing exactly which ones you are having trouble with I can't give any better advice. Good luck ;)

I guess its very hard to explain in words to get there (reminds me of these damn holocrons/datacrons in Old Republic, also a major pain sometimes), but I eventually found all chars without too much headache.

Haen't watched this vid, but maybe it'll help more than words can

The final doors hoewever...well, it was a bit dissapointing somehow, but at least you get decently rewarded, not really in items though. Could have been a tad more epic all in all

Really only worth it for the achievement. I do wish it had been something a bit more involving and had an actual story attached to it. Something to make all the effort in getting the &$^@! shards worth it.

The one over the camp you have to jump down from the highest point next to the cave in the north corner of the map on to the platform then you kinda walk over to the marker of the shard and pick it up.

In addition to the trophy, and some nice items (including legendary Vitaar) beating the big, nasty Pride Demon behind that door nets you a permanent 20% resistance boost to electricity ^_^
