So far I played 52 hours and I only did two regions; Hinterlands and Storm Coast. I just started Fallow Mire but I feel like this is the smallest area in the game. Storywise, I just got to Skyhold so I just finished "In your heart shall burn". I know I am going slow but I am in love with this game so I'm taking my time discovering everything, collecting herbs, crafting, reading every codex, doing missions in war room etc. How long do I have to finish the game if I keep going at this pace? I assume there are about 7-8 more areas to discover. Also can anyone give me a list of the areas from smallest to largest?
How far am I into the game?

There will be four more quests in the main storyline, but this is when your companion and adviser quests open up. This is when the game really gets going storywise. This will also be when you can start working on locking in the LI of your choice, if you're doing a romance.
I'll try to help you with the zone size list, but it's also subjective. For example, the Hinterlands seemed huge the first time I went through it, but it's comparatively shorter than many. I'm sure you'll hear a lot of different opinions, but this is my list. Bare in mind, I almost never use a mount:
Forbidden Oasis--This is about a level 15-17 zone. It's pretty small overall, but it is a bit of a maze.
Crestwood--Level 11-13. This zone didn't take me much time and the quests were fun.
Hinterlands
Western Approach--Level 13-16 or so. This zone was a tough one to place, because while it is fairly big, it was the quickest area for me to finish.
Emerald Grove--Level 12-15 or so
Storm Coast
Hissing Wastes--High level zone and very sprawling too. The mobs here were level 19 when I got there, with the highest being level 21.
Emprise du Lion--Half of it is about level 14-17, the other half is about level 19-22. This place is huge and has a couple of operations to fully unlock the area.

Is your list from smallest to largest? If so, shouldn't Storm Coast be before Hinterlands? I felt like Hinterlands was much bigger.
Basically, everything up to getting to Skyhold I count as prologue. It makes up about 1/5 of the game content wise, as well as story. So that basically means you.still have about 200 hrs to go
Sound pretty good, I guess I have a few more months of Inquisiting ahead of me.

I was trying for smallest to largest. Whereas I felt the Storm Coast was bigger than the Hinterlands, but like I said, that's subjective. I noticed that the Hinterlands seemed bigger to me the first time (ended up rerolling at Skyhold to do the IB romance instead of Blackwall,) but the second time went by quicker. Maybe it's because I knew my way around more. <shrug>
I'm not joking about Emprise du Lion though. Pack a lunch, get some Power going and strap in. And watch out for the NE part of the zone after you finish an operation to get a bridge fixed (you'll know the one.) There be some high level dragons in 'dem hills. Stay away from the buildings that look like arenas unless you're ready for dragons that like to call for adds, or if you're just feeling brave. ![]()
The Hissing Wastes is pretty huge too, but fairly quiet. Took me about 3 hours to finish 99% of the quests. Not a ton of roaming mobs, outside of the occasional wyverns and lurkers. Emprise du Lion will keep you very busy and the zone is pretty packed with a large variety of mobs.

How about Exalted Plains?

How about Exalted Plains?
Oh crap. I knew I was forgetting something. I'd put it on the medium to long side. It isn't too bad, but there is a lot of hills, trees and other methods of getting you turned around. It isn't a straight up maze like the Forbidden Oasis, but it still can be confusing and take a bit to get through. I still consider Emprise du Lion the biggest zone by far.
Thanks for reminding me about that. ![]()

No problem and have fun!
Say hi to the dragons for me. Alas, I killed the 10th one last night.

The ramparts at the Exalted Plains can be annoying to navigate.

True enough, but it wasn't too bad. It didn't take me terribly long and I was still able to bounce my dwarven butt up some hills as shortcuts.
The Forbidden Oasis just annoyed the crap out of me. Amusingly enough though, as a result of getting irritated, I finished it very quickly. I think it tied with the Western Approach at about two hours to complete the zone. It irritated me so much that I just wanted to finish rather few quests out there and get out. The only reason why I really stuck around after the main quest was to finish grabbing shards and to finish unlocking the doors at the temple. I only had to come back once, since I saved the Oasis for second to last.

I always go to the Oasis when I have enough shards to get the first door open and to grab the second campsite. Intrinsic Pools have plenty of bloodroot and there are dragonthorn right next to the starting camp. As I recall the enemies there start at around level 11.

They do. The absolute highest outside of the temple was level 15. Once you get inside the Temple though, it varies depending upon the room. The final enemy in the final room was level 24 for me, but that might scale up depending upon your level when you open the door.
