So I recently restarted my game, and I know I'm going to do Assassin again (I restarted shortly after getting Assassin for a few different reasons, including just rushing through the game so much and so fast tha tI feel like I missed out on things), and I'm trying to figure out what abilities I want to use.

For most of my run I used Twin Fangs, Flank Attack (with stealth upgrade), Stealth, and Poison Weapons. I never used Evade, despite having it because I figured, "I don't want to get used to it when I need to start removing abilities."

I like Flank Attack for the free insta-stealth, which helps with what I got from the Stealth tree in an increase to armor penetration. Twin Fangs is powerful, but I'm wondering if I should stop using it.

It feels clunky a lot, and the mapping to attack an enemy with it is frustrating. I get seriously injured sometimes trying to use Twin Fangs, and think, "if I was just attacking the enemy instead of using Twin Fangs, I would have done more damage by now." The mapping to get to the right angle to attack the enemy takes awhile sometimes. It just...makes the move feel lacking, and slows down my rogue considerably I believe.

I want to keep room and I'm actually making use of Evade now, so I'm wondering if instead of Twin Fangs, given the issues with how the ability works, I should switch it out for Poison Weapons again (which I stopped using for now to get myself used to not using it, if that makes sense).

You could try: twin fangs

                       dance of death

                       sneak attack

                       death blow- thrill of victory

                       flank attack-skirmisher

                       stealth-lost in shadows

                       evasion

                       evade

                       shadow strike-quick blade

maybe something like stealth-shadow strike-death blow then flank attack to get back into stealth

Twin Fangs is amazing, from stealth i crit 3k + 2.5k with it.. (on mp)

I didn't find Poison Weapons give a major increase in skill or attack damage though, why do you use it?

Basically, if an enemy is moving Flank Attack, if he's standing still Twin Fangs.

I was thinking flank attack upgraded wait 'til the enemy turns then Twin fangs then stealth then Shadow strike.  I haven't actually tried this though.

Honestly I use Poison Weapons partly for flavor I guess. I just...like poison weapons. Did in DAO and DA2 (I've only ever played a rogue in the games).

Though I have noticed they don't do much to help.

Hmm. The more I think about it, the more I'm realizing the usefulness of Twin Fangs.

I guess part of me just wishes I could keep poison weapons for flavor, you know? Since this isn't an MMO, I am less interested in getting a good build that "works" properly or whatever. I just want a build that's fun, not a specific one. So I was just guaging people on what they think of Poison Weapons and Twin Fang and such.

Considering Twin fangs is an 8 second precision detonator and shreds armor, I'd probably keep it, so you can knockoutpowder into basic combo.

Poison weapons is easy to obtain and can do anywhere from 350 - 450 weapon damage, though its not worth keeping if you don't use it.

At level 8 I pretty much am

1. Twin Fangs - Stealth

2. Ripping Fangs - Easy to Miss

3. Knockout Powder

4. Evasion

5. Evade

6. Ambush

7. Flank Attack

8. Skirmisher

Twin Fangs is excellent as combo detonator on frozen enemies -- they don't move so you avoid the whole moving around issue and it hits hard (especially from stealth) Goes especially nice with the Tempest spec and the Flask of Frost, not sure about the Assassin.

There's a nice dagger with poison% on hit, Wicked Grace it's called (on mp). (it also happens to offer great +crit damage meaning it's arguably the best addition to the Blade of the Red Birth.

+25% damage to your weapons with the upgrade. 25% increase to DPS sounds pretty good to me. My poison dmg was ticking for 275ish by the time I hit level 22. So if you look at it as a whole that's a nice chunk of damage for 10 seconds.

No one uses the focus attacks? I really like fade focus attack. It's so badass looking. Though I think that the Inquisitor specific focus attack should have been its own ability slot. Like a ninth slot sort of thing.

Twin fangs is like a melee rogue's bread and butter, it doesnt feel right if you dont have it.

yes it does have issues with animation and hitting targets but when it works its fantastic ;p

Yeah that's what you'd think isn't it. I've tried it, looked at the numbers and wasn't impressed.

I'm under the impression the 25% weapon dps does not benefit from crit or flanking and doesn't multiply skill damage either.

The +25% damage is kind of borked (I can't get it to work) and won't work on anything immune to poison like undead or anything. When you only have eight skills, there's better things to use.

Twin fangs is one of the strongest attacks for DW rogue, beaten out by hidden blades only I think. Deathblow is powerful, but it's glitched so it doesn't work right, though.

Alright, so I'll keep Twin Blades. I didn't think about getting Shadow Strike...but I'm seeing a lot of people say it's great now.

Ugh, I just wish you could have one or two more abilities. 8 is such a low number.

Oh no that was my build until level 8.

My assassin uses

-Twin Fangs

-Stealth

-Flank Attack

-Hidden Blades

-Death Blow

-Mark of Death

-Evade/Knockout Bomb

-Mark of the Rift

It's probably not efficient, but I have fun with it.

Not that you would want to have both, but I just realized that if you had both Knockout Bomb and Knockout Powder, you could potentially throw down a knockout down every ten seconds, which is the sleeping duration of both abilities.

Doesn't seem needed.
