I had a sarcastic Hawke who romanced Bela, and I got the "safe harbors, Isabela." line. The thing is, it was so quiet, I can see tons of people missing it unless they happened to be looking at the captions.

Maybe if it was the nightmare itself, sustained by literally everyone's fear. That would definitely be powerful. Makes you wonder what other demon concepts are "the" demonic emotions themselves.

Kinda like the demons gluttony, lust, pride, etc. Except instead of spirits taking these forms, they are where these things come from and can't be killed as long as they exist in humanity.

It was sustained by everyone's fear of the Blight which caused it to become so powerful.

I wonder what would happen if a Spirit of Faith focused on everyone's faith in the Maker. Would it become so powerful as to be Maker-like?

Why would anyone sacrifice Hawke anyway??

Because I sure as hell was not going to sacrifice Alistair.

I was watching a video of the ending of this today and when Hawke stayed behind, after saying, Say goodbye to Varric for me," Hawke very, very quietly said "Sorry Fenris."

I watched other videos since I was curious and saw that a Hawke romancing Isabela can say "Safe harbor, Isabela."

However, my Hawke romanced Anders and all she said was, "Alright then" or something to that effect.

Does Anders get nothing? What about Merrill or Sebastian?

Humorous fem hawke said "sorry anders" for me. Bethany was part of the circle, and hawke saved the mages if those are somehow tied

I think a spirit of faith is what the Divine was in the fade. Which is why I'm glad I brought Cassandra with me, due to what she and Solas said about her Seeker training.

Okay, this is dumb, I have subtitles turned ON and I KNOW for a fact I never get the Sorry Fenris line.  Or the safe harbors line either.  What gives?

I don't think Sebastian gets any mentions in the fade if romanced :( my other Hawkes got "Fenris/Anders will die like your family" while my Hawke who romanced Sebastian only got "your family died knowing you were a failure" or something along those lines.

You know, I'd expect Hawke of all people to kill that ***** spider. I mean, come on, we could have taken that thing! I've already packed in several dragons under my belt by then, and we have a warden, (A warden. Just one, lol. Damn lying Blackwall) and we've got the Champion of Kirkwall, plus the Herald of andraste, Bianca, and whatever badasses you decided to bring.

That spider should have been bird food.

Considering when you hover over the option to kill whoever it says "X will likely die", I think it's a safe bet to say we'll being seeing them again. In DLC or in DA4.

I could never leave Hawke, just hearing that he says "sorry Fenris." is enough for me to never pick it. Besides it isn't even Hawke's problem to clean up. I feel for Loghain though. He deserved better than to die like that.

I also wanted to fight the spider. lol!

OH OH OH, BASTION OF ****** HUMMANITY OVER HERE HAS ONE OUTBREAK OF SELFISHNESS IN THE FACE OF DEATH AND OH SUDDENLY HE'S SATAN HIMSELF. STAND ASIDE HITLER AND STALIN, I'LL BE TAKING MY SEAT ON THE DICK THRONE IN HELL, ALONG WITH MY "WORLDS LEAST LIKABLE HUMAN BEING" CERTIFICATE. Oh, and you know what? You know what? Your hair is dumb, you're like 30 now, it's time to move on. Yeah. Yeah. Think about that. You think on that one.

Suffice it to say, I wasn't happy about that little bit of dialog. At least Nathaniel is still my homie

I got the say goodbye to Varric on an Anders romanced Hawke.  I wasnt unhappy about that.

Snarky Hawke is the best Hawke IMHO.

Just check the keep before you import too - I found some of my choices had been rearranged - including my snarky Hawke who romanced Merril was in as diplomatic and the romance was unchecked too (however I'd run them in the beta stage so possibly when they went live it got mussed up.)

The goodbye to Varric line happens before the line people are talking about here, not instead.

Wow, Alistair says that the Warden is working with Clarel?? Why does he say that? Is it for romancing Morrigan?

If it's true then I'm glad my Warden chops his head off.

I'm fairly sure it was. I got the sarcastic line upon entering the Fade, sarcastic line about Qunari in Skyhold, and a couple others.

Hmnn, I got the same sarcastic lines..but no 'safe harbour isabella'. What system are you playing on?

Why would anyone sacrifice Hawke anyway??

I wouldn't ever do it, except...

... I got a letter from Warden-Commander Amell asking me to keep Alistair safe because he was as important as she was in ending the Blight and basically how she was working hard to free them from the Calling and she wasn't doing all of that just to lose him.

... WHAT.

I mean, she said it a lot better than that, but... yeah. :(

(but now I really want to write a "rescuing Hawke from the Fade" fic; I mean, really, you think they couldn't assemble a team that could do that? My Hawke has Anders, his sister Bethany, his cousin the WARDEN-COMMANDER who is a MAGE, and think of all the experience the Inquisition mages have that they could leverage, and I mean, seriously, TEAM SAVE HAWKE FTW)

even on a merely ooc point if view......one was your playing character the v other is an NPC.....WHY would you willingly sacrifice him? Screw that!!!

I've killed several of my own Wardens, why would I not kill some of my Hawkes as well?

edit: My diploHawke, weirdly, said the spiders line instead of anything about his girlfriend Merrill. It struck me as pretty weird for him to say, then I went about the business of feeling super guilty I just made Varric so sad.

I have to disagree.

That demon was massive, way larger than any dragon, and its power was fed by the fears of an entire continent. Also you were in the Fade, which is the demon's home turf. I think Bioware got it right in having the demon being too powerful for your little band to take on and win.

I had imported a world state that had Alistair as the Grey Warden contact.  No way I was sacrificing him.  He's going back to my Warden!  So I left my Hawke and balled like a baby :(  Sorry Sebastian!  Her last words were: (Deep breath) "Right, then."

Edit:  She was diplomatic and was "with" Sebastian.

So if Alistair stays with Grey Wardens you have to choose between him and Hawke? Sooo, this world state won't be used by me. xd xd

Why would anyone sacrifice Hawke anyway??

I did because I felt the Wardens would need new leadership to start over and and reform, and I felt that Loghain was the man to do it.

It was the single most difficult decision I've ever had to make in a video game, but I made it.

That being said, I've now done a second playthrough where I made the opposite decision and gotten a look at both epilogue slides and the fact that there is no significant difference between them and that the warden ally you have in the quest does not, in fact, actually step up into a leadership position has left me significantly underwhelmed with the whole thing, and I'm strongly considering amending my decision in the Keep with the DAI section opens up.

That just makes it all the more absurd that we distracted it with one man, and ran past it, lol.

Oh.. if i did have Loghain, I would sacrifice him without any remorse lol and my Inquisitor would be like "You stay." and pull hawke right away to escape no looking back xD

Re-watching that scene, it seems to be blocking their path with fog, or something to that extent, and when it gets attacked the fog fades.
