I was really excited for it to come out and bought all the hype. Built a monster of a computer that could handle anything just for this and now... I could care less.
After seeing over 70 hours of beautiful vistas and the awesome ocean graphics and hearing a great sound track I realized that I'm just not invested in the story or the characters. I know that I could have skipped a lot and just stayed with the story line but I'm not wired that way in gaming I guess. I like to turn over every stone and either craft or loot the best equipment out there so I can intimidate the biggest baddest bosses out there. The times between story based content are terrible when played this way leaving no real reason for me to be concerned when I accomplish anything.
Maybe it's just that I play in a more linear fashion than the game was designed for, I don't know for sure but I have realized that I would rather play the preceding DA titles or ME titles than sludge through DA:I which, for me, is just really boring.
The combat is too easy once you figure it out, the crafting is meh, the terrain is such that I have often said screw it as I took a third trip around a mountain trying to get somewhere only to find out later that you have to do a quest or something to open up the territory. I hate the interface for the PC, I miss not controlling my attributes and detest having to search for a ping then walking over and practically standing on top of an object to trigger a 3 second animation to pop up a menu letting me click on what I want.
I feel as if I ordered a 12 year old scotch and was given a glass of muddy water.
There are a lot of people that are loving this game and I'm glad they are and wish them well. But for me, this is not the game I was led to believe was going to be delivered.
