Loads of individual moments have had me with a lump in my throat, each of the companions/advisors have given me pause at some point in their arcs. But the biggest "feelz" moment for me was definately the cutscene of the long march through the snowy mountains and then when Skyhold is first revealed to you, the music kicks in and the goosebumps landed, I love that scene so much.

I don't know that I can pick out an emotional moment yet, but that whole sequence from meeting Cory to arriving at Skyhold was brilliantly done. It's one of my favorite video game moments.

oooh that's a hard one. I have 2 scenes that were emotional for me. First was Varric on Hawke being left behind, and the other was Morrigan and her son in the Fade. I'm a big fan of Morrigan for DA:O so I kinda felt her pain haha, and Hawke felt awful cause well, I made Hawke so I felt attached to her as well (Morrigan is my favorite DA character tho.)

On my second play as Lavellan i spared all high dragons except for Abyssal, blamed her death (conveniently) on a clumsy dragon expert. They only take flight once per century and go back to their lairs. The average human kills more animals for food in a single month!! Like Morrigan stated, we will only be left with the mundane.

The death of Gaspard. When you keep Celene in power and make her friends with Briala again,Gaspard gets executed. After the talks are complete the inquisitor is going for air on a balcony. Josephine come ask how all things went and the inquisitor collapse!! Mourning Gaspard and regretting his death. Josephine see how emotional the inquisitor is and leave so he/she can cry out.

Dorian's scene is great because the actors delivery of his lines is amazing. Almost everything with Dorian made me feel emotional, he was just fantastic. Cass and Solas had some great moments too. Hugging Varric is a good one. I imagine if you take a certain option with Iron Bull, that's pretty awful to see.

Dorian's writing and VA are so amazing, I am going to roll up a male character to romance him, something I wasn't planning on doing. He reminds me in character and delivery of an old Hollywood actor, Erroll Flynn.  All that dash and drama! Kudos to the writer and to the actor for a wonderful character.

Most emotional scenes were:

Solas romance

Spoiler

Finding the Well of Sorrows and Mythal's temple. It's so mystical, ancient, cool and interesting. Finding the sentinels and talking to Abelas, sorrow indeed.

Morrigan and her son and Flemeth scene.

As someone cleverly put it in this thread Virmire 2.0 no matter what combination of people I have in that scene it will be an agonizing choice. I feel like I'm Fate.

Seeing how the Ocularus are made? Macabre and sad- I already hate the practice of Tranquility and that is just yet another gross atrocity done to mages wtfuckery moment.

There are a ton more but those are the ones that stand out for me right now.

While not as dramatic as the other scenes, the game of Wicked Grace with all the squad mates and advisors was probably my favorite.  It's good change of pace to see them in a non-life threatening situation just having innocent fun, and makes you care for them all the more when you can see them as normal people.

I'm going to go with the

Spoiler
scene as well.

Yeah, I also tried to explain that scene to a friend of mine who hasn't played the games but watches Sci Fi TV: "Aeryn Sun called Captain Janeway a bad mother she looked really hurt by it, I cried."

I also consider Cole's personal quest bittersweet.

It's ''just'' to you, but it's not ''just'' in Tevinter Altus family.

Also..

No, no emotional scenes for me. Pretty much didn't relate to anything, or anyone.

I don't get what you're trying to say here?  I know it is a big deal in Tevinter to be perfect and all that crap, but we're talking blood magic on your son here. That is messed up on all kinds of levels regardless of how perfectionist your society is trying to be.

And really? you didn't connect/relate to anything at all? Seems like a bland gaming experience.

  • The Dawn Will Come scene makes me tear up every time I watch it. It's the point where the Chantry finally felt like an actual religion, rather than just something the writers put in the setting because they needed a church there.
  • When you gain the loyalty of the dragon after drinking from Mythal's fountain, the scene of it bowing its head to you before flying off filled me with awe and wonder.
  • The talk with Varric after sacrificing Hawke (I was only able to do that because I failed to export my Keep state to the DA servers, so it wasn't "my" Hawke that I was leaving behind. But it still hurt, and Varric's pain and sadness dug the knife deeper and twisted it).
  • The talk with Sera after she had the nightmare, and wants to break off the romance because she's so afraid of the Inquisitor leaving her.
  • And Future!Leliana having her Inigo Montoya moment when she cut Felix's throat: "I want my world back."

Last cut scene with Solas. I gets me every darn time. I can't think of anything else that compares to that in the game.

Most emotional? I don't know. Probably seeing my femquisitor raise the sword after being made Inquisitor saying that she will do it for her own power. Excellent.

There's a small part of me that selfishly wants to keep sending Hawke to his/her death in the fade just so I can Hug Varric after. It just gets me everytime.

On that note, there are precious few playthroughs where Loghain survives Origins to the point where he shows up as the warden at Adamant. But after running my only play through with Loghain; By the Maker! He is by far the most profound, most intense, most emotional choice for the warden. (Admittedly Alistair is a close second, but I just can't do that to him and much prefer to have him crowned king.) He just seems so desperate and determined to redeem himself.

And yet the whole time he maintains a stoic sense of calm confidence. He doesn't let anything phase him, and has no reservations about doing what needs to be done. You come to realize why he was such a Hero to Ferelden. I came to truly realize how much he actually had in common with my own Warden.

And the real tragedy, the truly emotional moment for me, was realizing that despite him being the best man for that job, there is no way for him to survive it. My main warden was an elf, she could not simply forgive him for allowing such mistreatment of the Denim elves where she grew up, much less the way he willingly sold them to slavery to pay for his pointless civil war. She had to see him die for his crimes, it's simply not in character for her to let that pass. I'm sure Loghain himself probably understood that better then anyone in the end. If their positions had been reversed Loghain would not have hesitated to kill her as well.
