Does her relationship with other party members improve as you go along ? Never really had her in my party before but she really treats Varric and Blackwall like crap and it's getting to be quite annoying.
I utterly despise Vivienne. With a passion.

I'm sure people can find a way to hate Blackwall - I certainly might have.
But I see a man who's come a long way in his road to redemption. Sure, he assumes someone else's identity - but he did it so "The world wouldn't lose a good man", and besides, he was slated to be conscripted anyways. Assuming he passed his Joining, I think he'd be exactly the same man he's presented himself as.
He even turns himself in so no one else would die for what he now accepts as *His* Mistake.
Sure, he Killed an entire family. But so did Sten - and I don't think he's quite as hated.
However - the Stories with Varric, were hilarious. One of the Better Interactions she has. Her, Varric, Cass, and Dorian (To a lesser degree) get along.

Granted, Blackwall didn't know the entire family would be there. Still... no excuse I suppose.

Vivi treats Varric like crap…? I don't remember that in any banter I heard.

I agree she only joined for her own selfish power hungry reasons. She seems to try and use the Inquisitor. I will admit I have not fleshed out the entirety of the relationship. Yet I did speak to her as much as possible through my first play. Chose not to recruit her in my second. She is currently in my third, as I am giving her another shot.
I can not picture her as divine, she seems to be corrupt or at least has it within her character to be or become corrupt. Her goals and opinions to her, seem to be the only options.
Rip Greatly Disapproves...

True YMMV on that. I guess it wouldn't annoy me so much if he wasn't so high horsed about some of your decisions. It just looks a bit pathetic considering he's judging Quizzy with his backstory.
And Sten is a good comparison.

Eh, Sten turns himself in straight after he did the deed. He just sat there waiting for punishment. Blackwall ran away and assumed an identity of a famous person, arguably a heroic sort, for a very long time - thats a very cowardly thing to do. It takes a lot of conversations with your Inquisitor as well as an innocent taking blame for him so that he would go and present himself to authorities. I would say Sten and Blackwall are not comparable in terms of honor. I dont hate the guy btw, if anything I think its a very human thing to do.
On topic - Viv and Varric get along splendidly in my game, I love their conversations.

That is because she IS right... and you ARE wrong my dear. She makes the most compelling arguments in the story as to why the circle must exist and why it would be a travesty to have world without it. Untrained and unprotected mages are like 5 year olds walking around with a loaded gun. Funny enough, perhaps it is you who isn't willing to look at another point of view?
Except we know from the epilogue that Leliana + free mages results in the least amount of bloodshed and that mage relations improve across Thedas when the situation is like that. So yeah, she's kinda wrong.

The sad truth is that people who like Vivienne's personality and facade are the insecure people who are drawn to her arrogance in which people unwittingly mistakes for bold confidence.
No self-confident, self-resepecting person would put up with a person like Vivienne (if she was real).
Oh lol! I'm sure you didn't mean to insult everyone that likes this fictitious character. Right?
I've worked with people that behave and express themselves arrogantly like this. What you say is true about the insecurity. But... I didn't dislike them because they behaved like arseholes. I disliked the behavior, not the person. I always can find something to like about people and I try to accept them just as they are. Vivienne is a valuable part of the Inquisition (in my games) and her skills as a Mage are better than others.

That's more a matter of opinion really, I think that siding with the Templars with Cassandra as divine with a reformed and renewed Templars, seekers and circles is the best and most peaceful ending.

In my epilogue Leliana killed everyone that did not convert to her views, so a lot of bloodshed there lol

She did? That's pretty ruthless of her. I guess she takes her role as Divine seriously.

She's an Orlesian snob and pretends to be better than she really is. Another character I hate is Solas. Well i kind of hated him after first few dialogues in the game, how fascinated by the fade he was.

Vivienne and Iron Bull get along very well. He basically sees her as a human Tamassran and she kinda takes on the role of like mother/authorian figure for him instructing him on how to conduct himself in Orlesian society. It's pretty cool.

She only does that if you harden her. If you unharden her she won't be like that. She'll be able to convince her opposition to stand down instead.

I didn't like Vivienne in the sense that, in real life, I probably wouldn't go out for beers with her, but I liked her character: she had her own values, views and motivations and she wasn't going to change them to accommodate your views or actions. She and my inquisitor did not get along well at the beginning, but over the course of the game, we built a mutual respect for one another.
Even if you (or your inquisitor) don't agree with her views, she has an articulate and reasonable defence of them. I like the fact that there was a character that I could dislike and still respect.

The "least amount of bloodshed" part may be opinion, but the point I was trying to make was that Vivienne wasn't correct. Non-hardened Leliana + free mages works out in the epilogue. Vivienne's claims that it can't be any way but the way it has always been proved untrue.

Vivienne is a very mature character. If you can't understand the position she's in then it's not her design that's the problem. Bioware made her amazingly rounded if you continue her companion quests.

I understand her perfectly. She wants to maintain the status quo, because under the status quo, she's living like a queen. Who wouldn't want to maintain that?

I imagine. I guess she would turn all of Theadas inside out if she goes hardcore.
