Fiona is probably the worst Mage ever.

With mages like Vivienne or Anders? Not even close (I actually rather like her in the novels). Signing a deal with tevinter was at least understandable, they needed protection after the conclave.

I didn't see Vivie lead her mages to their doom or sell them into slavery.  They also already had protection, Redcliffe with Teagan there.

Read it.

Better yet, play the Dragon Age games.  Codex's explain how Blood Magic is used.  Because *ONE* particular ritual requires a willing participant doesn't mean they ALL do.  That's like saying, one pistol requires .40mm ammunition therefor THEY ALL DO.

Wikias are not a good resource as they are edited by people and not Bioware themselves, it's why we all have our own points of view on things.

From my personal perspective, Bioware did a soft Retcon on Blood Magic for DA: I (why it's no longer present as a class) to make it resistable, basically like Demons and Soul exchange.

It's also not a long stretch of the imagination to think that in the years between Kirkwall and Inquisition there have been ways to ward against Blood Magic control uncovered which had potentially become common knowledge.

Edit: To Add I've always been incredibly Pro-Mage right back from Dragon Age: Origins, Fiona was a horrible representative for the Mages and Connor actually makes a much better voice of reason in the short conversation you have with him in Redcliffe, it's why I feel like others do that there should've been a way to ally with the Mages without Fionas woeful leadership.

Yes because clearly spitting on and betraying the monarchs who gave you protection for a deal with a hostile foreign power is clearly understandable.

She's also a freeloader who does nothing at Skyhold while er mages risk their life.

By this logic, all of the companions you don't bring with you on quests are freeloaders who just sit around as well.

Your personal perspective is yours, by right, but is still not correct.

Ignorance is bliss, as they say.  I'll say it again, blood magic can, has and will continue to be used on unwilling victims.  Saying that people who are unwilling are immune to Blood Magic is absurdity of the highest order.  If this were true it wouldn't be OUTLAWED.  It would be, quite literally, useless.

As for WHY it's no longer a class option... that's probably because it's outlawed in nearly all of Thedas and yet the protagonist is allowed to wield it with reckless abandon and never get reprimanded, ostracized or attacked for doing so.  People have complained about it being immersion breaking since DA started.

Stop.

Being able to resist Blood Magic (which has always been a thing since DA:O) and Blood Magic only working on the willing are miles and miles apart.

Opinions are opinions you two, while I respect that you disagree, the pair of you are doing it in an extremely non-constructive and derailing the entire thread manner.

Name calling and generally going "My Opinion is right, yours is wrong" is not how to debate.

Name calling and generally going "My Opinion is right, yours is wrong" is not how to debate.

1.) It's not a debate.  In order for it to be a debate the answer to the question must be debatable.  It is not.  Blood magic can be used on unwilling victims.  Fact.  I'm sorry this upsets you but thems the breaks.

2.) Stop being melodramatic.  No one has called you any names.  Stomping your feet in a huff is not a good way to make your point.

3.) You can have an opinion and it still be blatantly wrong.  For example, "My opinion is that the planet Earth is square and not spherical" is a perfect specimen of an invalid opinion.

4.) We're not derailing the topic.  The topic is about Fiona.  Fiona was affected by Blood Magic.  You insist that Blood Magic cannot be used on unwilling victims.  This is factually incorrect.  Ergo, this sidebar is on topic.

In summary, by all means, cling to your opinions.  That's your prerogative.  Just like it's mine to say, "You're wrong."  Which I will continue to exercise thank you very much.

Turning the whole thing into a passive aggressive "I'm going to call someone stupid" and try to get away with it as best I can IS Derailing.

I know this is probably one of your 5 or 6 accounts you have for the forums in case one gets banned so you jump on another, that's why you were so quick to call me out for Reporting you.

That's why you're on the defensive now.

That's why your wording is EXACTLY THE SAME as 3 other accounts at least that I've seen on the forums.
