So I installed the game, start it, it does its system information collection deal and crashes half way thought. Windows tells me Dragon Age: Origins Configuration Utility has stopped working.
System Specs
Vista SP1
Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 2.40GHz
4GB Ram
Nvidia GeForce GT 120M 1GB card
The customer support forums are useless and I can't even get these forums to search. Pretty ****ty to have this many problems for a brand new game.

Yep I have tried admin as well, just nothing. I have never had this serious of a problem with a game ever.

Never tried TF2 on this computer. I'm reinstalling the game right now. Will update with results.

that was why I quit playing the game; just gave up on figuring out the issue and I reinstalled heroes of might and magic IV

omfg I FINALLY got it! This is what I did, that auto config program is a piece of ****. Go into the directory you have installed the game into and then go to the bin_ship folder, run daorigins.exe instead of DAOriginsConfig.exe. Hope this works for you guys!

What's it saying now? Haha as bad as it sounds a new error message is getting somewhere. What are your computer specs?

sounds like a UAC issue.
Make sure its turned off before you try and launch the game. May even need to reinstall it if it was turned on during installation.
Also, post the error

Thanks for trying I am done. I want my money back. I have done 4 installs already and I am finished. I will now satisfy myself with simply flaming them until I get my money back. I am running a brand new Dell with 8g of ram , dual 512 ATI video cards. THe issue is with the program and VISTA and I find this to be criminal that they would release a game with KNOWN issues of compatibility with the most common operating system available.

it is not a problem with Vista.
However, it may be a problem with your settings or firewall programs.
What anti-virus / firewall do you use?
Is UAC on?
Are you sure that your windows account is the administrator?
What are you using the launch the program? As in, is it a steam game?
Windows security settings?

Launch MSCONFIG by from the Run menu.
Click on the Tools tab. Scroll down till you find "Disable UAC" . Click on that line.
Press the Launch button.
A CMD window will open. When the command is done, you can close the window.
Close MSCONFIG. You need to reboot the computer for changes to apply.
No way you are going to be able to launch this game with UAC on. It is the devil.

Veracity, does your game crash during the Configuration Utility? Have you tried opening up the daorigins.exe instead?
