It seems I can't correctly quote, so forgive me if I go old school.
- Repetitive sidequest design with little to no variation between them
There are not many 50+ hour games that do not have some sort of fetch quests as I understand it
So don't go over 50 hours. Origin has no "pure" fetch quest, meaning that all (or almost all) sidequests have story and involve some kind of moral decision. Also you can skip all of them if you want and won't be underleveled. Open world games like Borderlands have side quest that are even funnier than the (very good) main storyline.
> it has become the standard for RPGs to give as much time as is needed to complete the story line without having to worry about a time clock as well when >doing side quests and such
Skyrim allows you to complete the main quest immediately and without doing side quests inbetween missions. The Witcher doesn't have any convoluted storyline.
> I personally play with a game pad and a 20 button mouse which I can customize to my liking so I don't have that problem.
You can't play with a game pad and a mouse together; you can't customize any button of your mouse. So I don't know what you're talking about. If I'm mistaken, please tell me how to play with a gamepad while quicksaving with keyboard, or how to hotkey the third mouse button. I'll be grateful.
Also the interface and controls have a lot more limitations, like the 8 quickslot bar, the impossibility to click to move, the impossibility to move the camera with a mouse while in tactical cam (that's the most stupid thing I've ever seen in a rpg, really). The fact that you don't care doesn't mean that it's ok or that those things shouldn't upset other players.
I liked DA:O, I liked DA2 and, I admit it with no problems at all, I like Inquisition too. However it is the worst of the series and I won't replay it much, mostly because you are forced to grind to level up; and if you cheat by adding exp via trainer you're going to finish the main storyline in less than ten hours, removing all the epic from the game or any attachment to your character.
