I have seen countless threads on this issue and yet none that have helped, so I'll make my own in hopes of finding some help.

I just got myself a copy of Mass Effect 1 for PC so I could run through it this week and get my character ready for ME2 (originally had the game on xbox) well all installed fine accepted my serial. I patched the game to the latest version and tried to run it to hit an endless wall with the registration code request.

First: is this my serial on the inside of the gamebox? or do  I need to register that to get some code?
Second: if it is the serial how do I get it to work?

i don't know if thats ure case but theres a buggy edition of mass effect made by ea called ea - value games with an orange border and no manual, where ea gave the wrong serials. if thats ure case then u should send them an e-mail.

Same problem here; have sent a question to EA support, hope it will be sufficent.

I don't want to pay 10 extra bucks to replace a faulty key from THEIR ValueGames serie

I moved the paul.dll file out of the binaries directory; finally I can launch the game.

Still, it doesn't seem right...

I found the same work around (delete a .dll file and play from the disc auto run) but thank you for the replies I have done the game now and am ready for ME2.



I'll contact EA and get it sorted out, at least now it's not a frantic panic in order to get the game to run.

Okay I found turning the anisotropic filtering to default instead of max solved the issue for me, not sure if that's the reason others had the issue but maybe it will help.

I deleted the Paul.dll and i wans't asked for the Cd-key anymore... I was asked for the correct cd instead... so any help here?

Reg code comes with the game. If you didnt purchase a legit copy, then you're out of luck.

I've got the limited edition...but i can't find the reg. code in it...

Bioware wrote,that reg. code is found at the back of the box...

Its on the back cover of the manual.

 I actualy can not find where to register Mass Effect 1 in order to get acess to the dlc any help please ?

You cant register ME1 on this site, it was only on the old forums which were shut down after being hacked.
As for the DLC, try reading the sticked thread in the ME1 forum.
