Suggestion - Bring Back Choices and Consequences in Side Quests

I was really bummed to find that a just about every single side quest was either a go here and kill X or go here and collect X quest, with practically none that seemed to hold a consequence for doing Y instead. For example, there was that quest that was shown in an earlier video when the game was still being developed, that could lead to a town and its people being burned and one where you had to decide to burn the boats of your enemy or not. Those kinds of choices in random sidequests would be welcome and feels more consistent with what the main story is trying to get across. The go here and kill something quests are fun but I feel like that's kind of all I do in the game really. I hardly feel like I'm given a non-violent choice at any point in a side quest.

So for any future downloadable content, please consider making consequences for the side quests as well where it makes sense to do so.

Not entirely sure if there wasn't consequences.  The reference you spoke of largely changed what characters thought of you.  If that is what you're talking about then there are lots of chances to screw with side quests.   Almost all of the character/companion side quests have branching options with different results.  I'd give examples but we're not in a spoiler forum.

I'm not talking so much consequences for your likability among the team, I'm talking more about consequences in side quests that affect the land around you. Something that visibly changes the environment or the outcome of a battle down the road would be nice.

In that case, you really should make it clear in your post that you're talking about environmental changes, not attitude changes or storyline changes.

Storyline would be welcome also. I can't get specific with examples but I have some in the game that I'd like to point to where I think it was handled well and somewhere I think it was a missed opportunity. However, in my initial post I did mention my disappointment in the quest line that could result in a village being burned seemingly removed (I'm sure there were reasons). So that's an example of an environment change. One minute the village is there, ignore a quest or a request for help and boom...no more village.
