A rift was opened up inside Corypheus' body, so he was sucked into the fade inside out.

Ye, a rift opened inside him, riping him apart. You can clearly see him burning and you even get a half a second of his skeleton burning to ashes. Dont think its supposed to be a "its not over" thing. He seemed pretty dead to me.

I had personally assumed that the body he was possessing at the Conclave had been destroyed in the blast and that he switched over to another one afterwards.

I assumed the same, I just meant this time he stayed dead.

My theory is that the Inquisitor either opened a rift inside of him and rended him apart, or they sent him into the Fade, stranding him there.
While the latter might seem like a stupid thing to do, since it was his entire goal, it's worth considering that before Corypheus had always tried to enter the Fade physically in a controlled manner. The first time was when he attempted this with his seven hombres in Ancient Tevinter who did so after major planning and his two attempts using the Orb, which again seemed to require a lot of prior preparation for him to pull off?
Being thrown into the Fade, with no Anchor to protect him (which is how the Inquisitor is able to survive entering the Fade and was able to extend such protection to others), coupled with no other magisters to provide any kind of backup or magical equipment to help him navigate the winding pathways of the Fade, it's likely that Corypheus was either killed by the transition, or left stranded in limbo for all time?

Oh gods. I just beat the game (literally 20 minutes ago at this point) and that sounds accurate. And gruesome.

Yeah, either a rift was opened up inside of him and he was torn apart from the inside-out or the Inquisitor banished him to the Fade without a body by opening the rift inside of him.
I lean towards the former, since that makes more sense and they were trying to go for the whole killing him permanently thing, though I'm disappointed with the final battle (really I'm just disappointed with Inquisition entirely. Good game, good for roleplaying, but potential squandered). The game makes it out to seem like he's this uber-powerful Magister and that you might be going into a fight you may not walk away from because you have no support....
...and Corypheus ends up being a boring boss with absolutely nothing to show for it other then wacking you on the head like you haven't had a V8. In fact the entire final battle turned into a load of tedious bullshit, ESPECIALLY against the dragon.
I found Legacy Corypheus as a boss to be better.... and I still found that to be poorly done. Bioware has never really made truly impressive (or challenging) battles -- never mind boss battles -- to me.

Ever wondered what would happen if Nightcrawler just teleported his insides? Yeah. That.

My guess is that it can be easily assumed that he's dead, yet with enough wiggle room to bring him back.

Entered the fade inside-out with no Anchor to protect him.
Last time he was mutated and tainted, this time?
Anything left will be lucky if it fits in a mug.

I just hope he didn't fade-step and stole the Warden's body for DA4. THAT would be too much.

And his answer is silence. I suppose that's what you get when you first try to make yourself a god, and then call out to the gods you tryed to put yourself above once you start losing.

ripped apart? nah, we sent him with a fruit basket into the fade so stroud, alistair, loghain, or hawke could sit there and smack him around and finish everything off screen.

Got silence from a God of Silence. How poetic to me.
Yeah, that's what it looks like at the cutscenes; he got ripped to shreds with a rift.
