This may have already been discussed, but I couldn't find anything when searching.  Is there any reason why the MP run can't be the same as the single player campaign, where you just move the left analog stick all the way to run?  In MP it's annoying to have to constantly push the L3 buttom to go from jog to run.

Why? Do you not have a separate run button on PC?

In singleplayer you put away your weapons when not in combat and run faster, about the same speed as the sprint in multiplayer. In multi, you do not sheathe your weapons so without sprint it would be painfully slow getting around.

There's no reason not to sprint... Who in his right mind would walk in MP? Sprint is already slow to begin with...

I wonder why Bioware thought it would be a good idea to have walking as default and a sprint button. It would be much better to have sprint as default and a walking button. At least it would remove the fact we mash a button constantly on PC because everything breaks sprint... It's such an unnecessary feature, just like holding right-click non-stop to move because you wouldn't be able to play without holding it... Remove those freaking bad designs, holding a button just for the fun of it is mindless and plain horrible. Y U no LUV US BioWARE?!?!

It's not a case of walking as default.

It's a case of weapon is in hand at all times, you move that slow in SP with your weapon out.

If they can have abilities do different things in MP and SP, they can have "briskly walking" speed be default without having to spam click the sprint button before it finally kicks in.  Would fix the animation cancel for 2h weapons as well.

No idea. I remapped the sprint button to RS analog. It feels more "natural" clicking on the camera view vs the character movement. Does anyone even use that target view option?

To lock on a target? Absolutely. Especially on my Necro... hit it with walking bomb then that view helps keep it focused to make sure my target doesn't change so I can get the explosion train rolling.

I believe he is referring to the target lock, where the camera zooms in, the enemy is outlined in red and all of your attacks are aimed at that enemy.

It's your best friend on so many characters. For example, you can back away from something, and then Shield Wall, and pivot on a dime to face your enemy regardless of what direction you were moving. Doing so manually is slightly less responsive.

Is that the same thing as the "target this enemy" thing using "Up" on the D-pad? If not I'm completely lost.

Yeah, having to click any button to 'walk briskly' is just another example of poor game design, probably made because ME3 MP had a sprint toggle.  In all honesty, just as the OP noted, it serves no purpose in MP since you do not put your weapon away.  Either the movement bonus should be significant and the weapon should be sheathed or you should be able to walk briskly by default.

Walk up to an enemy and click (press down) on the right stick. That's target lock. I like making up my own words sometimes.  :D

I was about 100 games in before I realized it was there. I used a few times to check it out, but still ended up not using it.

I blame Call of Duty (in the broad sense of modern 3rd/fps games) for needless button presses.  It just seems to be a fad to ignore the fact modern console controllers have analogue controls (i.e.: multi-input based on button-pressure or degree of stick-movement) and map inputs to separate buttons.

In MP it's annoying to have to constantly push the L3 buttom to go from jog to run.

Call or Duty = click to run.

Does anyone even use that target view option?

Call of Duty = iron sights.

And then, as pointed out, single player DAI does it differently.

Why we couldn't move at the current full speed (brisk walk / jog), and have a button to holster our weapons, to then properly sprint?

The down side being you could not attack or use powers until you pull your weapons out again:  with both a delay to re-equip, and maybe increased damage vulnerability, to discourage people sprinting to enemies.

At least it would make moving between enemies and looting much faster.

That or let us summon horses like single-player!  Biower: horses plz!!!

I've never touched COD with the exception of COD3. It was on sale for $5. I wanted to see what  the fuss was about. I checked out the SP and that was it.

I would've liked a sheath weapon feature if for one reason alone, the archer looks like dork when he runs with his bow drawn. I played the SP for like 5mins so I haven't had a chance to see the difference in controls. For some reason the full-sprint impacts the auto-attack behavior, cancelling the animation (at least on console). Personally I think they should make the melee kits slightly faster than ranged fighters, so the melees can get to the battlefront faster. There's really no point in the vase loots. The good ol fashion random corpse drop would have been fine. It definitely would keep the game pace going. I'd take a loot bot over a horse any day (Dragon's Dogma  ). I'll try the SP in a week or two weeks after I've completed all my MP Challenges.

I'm a PC player, but I play with an xbox360 pad. It took me some time to realize, that stick angle does not change the speed same way as it normally does in many games (including DAI SP). I thought that it was just me. Note, that there are no bloody hints about the controls in MP! A man on the forum had explained  that I need to press left stick to keep running.

Clicking the stick is good for some minor stuff (like pinging for loot), but constantly running around with a pressed stick? My left thumb does not like that. And even with this 'sprint' it feels so much slower compared to the SP. Why couldn't they just use the normal SP combat model?

And which is worse - it's impossible to rebind the pad buttons on the PC.

Imo, they should remove that turtle crawling. It's annoying. I can't play MP because of that. And a slight overall speed boost might do some good too.
