I'm seriously getting fed up with the new trend of people joining a multiplayer game and staying AFK to leech the entire session.

They should add the option to votekick someone during a running session, not just during the group creation :(

...You can vote kick someone during a running session. If you're on PC, press "V", click the AFKers name and then you can select vote to kick.

Vote Kick is easy.

I personally like going AFK during Threathening runs where the party is stacked and have the exp/gold come in. I mean some of the runs I've had it's just like do they really need me? really? At the same time I like having a leecher when the party is stacked to keep it interesting. With four stacked people there's just not much left to if you're not playing Ele/AW/Necro. So why not rotate our AFK's? I generally don't afk when people mind or the team needs me.

Imo this game should give token incentive for people who solo, two-man, or three-man the game, like a bit more gold and xp. The total xp and gold given to the team should be less than if it was 4-manned of course, so that people will 4-man 90% of the time, but people who want to try 1-3 manning won't be punished with almost no xp benefits and actually no gold benefits as exists now. Something like 50-75% more xp/gold by soloing a dungeon, 25-37.5% by two-manning, and 16.66-25% by three-manning, which would make fewer team members not worth it for farming xp, but allow people who enjoy fewer team members to have fewer team members with a token xp/gold compensation for having to put in a lot more effort.

I can't help but wonder why do you play this game in the first place... To get more gold? When the game's already too easy for you?

I get my fun out of figuring out ways to to my best ability play characters, I get my fun out of crafting, builds and items. Good groups to do Perilous with are a tough find and I'm not always in the mood to play or don't have at a good level what we need (a one track mind). The gambling mechanic works addictively as well. The game is hardly too easy on Perilous.

Have you ever been in threathening pugs where there's a geared level 20 AW just soloing through everything and you're left to pick up gold and kill stragglers? In those kinds of games when my team is stacked I enjoy reading/posting about the game, at that point that's more exciting than actually playing. But I do want the gold ofcourse.

I'm addicted

chests.

I hate leechers with a burning passion. There is no justifiable reason to leech other than just being a lazy dick. Ill do everything in my power to vote kick them at wave 5 just before completing the mission.

Vote kick is a thing from the party screen (V keyboard or Backbutton on controller). If there was text in-game for all systems (cause all consoles save the PS3 have digital keyboards baked into the OS or even chat pads) people could easily notify the team that they need to kick the AFK guy. KISS

=====
This reminds me of the system I have suggested time and again for Warframe....

A two stage solution.

1) Time/Behavor (to avoid rubber band hacks) based auto-kick.
2) Vote based confirmation by players.

Setup a rather aggressive automated system that has several ways to tigger a vote kick (AFK, certain kinds of griefing behavior, etc). Once the system trips the Vote opens up to the remaining players for a Human conformation.

This system takes initiating kicks out of the hands of the players (booting becasue "friend" came online and they want your slot) and puts in universally baised automated system. It then catches false positives by asking the humans to verify. Solves the vast majorty of problems with both automated and human based kick systems.

Considering how often you get stuck at the loading screen/cannot move after entering a game, I think a lot of the AFKers are not intentionally AFKing. Maybe they assume that if the game hasn't loaded for them then it hasn't loaded for others as well. Maybe the assume that after a while things will go back to normal and they will be able to move again. It's really not their fault. Perhaps you will say that they need to learn to leave themselves, but the better solution is for Bioware to fix that before they are forced to leave.

You should help people who are stuck loading by kicking them, so that they don't have to quit themselves and lose the xp they gained while being bugged in the game.

Lets get real, the black screen loading bug is NOT the only instance of AFKing in this game nor is it the most abundant.  The most common I would say is people who just host a lobby and then seemingly forget about it completely or somehow require an amount of time equal to the length of any of the lord of the rings extended editions to manage their loot/abilities for the next match.

Considering how easy it is to just back out and find a different lobby or boot the AFKer and wait the 5-10 seconds for a new player to join, kicking an AFK person, regardless of the reason for their inaction, is a blessing for all involved if anything.  Doubly so considering party makeup is largely irrelevant unless you absolutely MUST hit every single treasure room (which I would very much like to but sometimes it just can't be helped, a party full of mages makes quick work of the game).  Matches take long enough at 20 minutes (average PUG rate), having to put up with waiting more than a few minutes (generous) for a player when it is so easy to find a replacement is silly.  Unless you are playing with friends, why bother wasting your time on a random person when you can just get another almost immediately?

Thank you, I didn't know about that. Was used to V being the search function from single player story and left it alone after it popped up the player menu in multiplayer.

Just because I don't have an exorbitant amount of posts under my name does not make me a troll. So, excuse me for actually having a life and not being on a forum 24/7.

I seriously doubt people wait on a loading screen for over 20 minutes, considering how impatient gamers are nowadays.

This reminds me, when I first installed DA3, it went into my HDD instead of SSD even though I set it to SSD (origins is retarded). My first experience loading into a DA3MP game was waiting at least a minute, maybe 100 seconds, in order to finish loading the map. There's probably a small percentage of DA3MP players who don't have the game running on an SSD and you could be mistaking it for AFK'ing.

Not to defend bioware here but amelia stated earlier at some point that it was a conscious decision to not save XP when leaving a match early (being booted counts as leaving early) as it would lead to unsavory methods of XP farming.  I understand the decision and approve of it, just unfortunate that this affects players who get booted.
