Thedas has many characters. There are a lot of living characters- they can be annoying, despicable and likeable. And now there is one person I utterly hate- Vivienne. 

Thank you ms Mary Kirby for such living character.

 

My confession of hate:

 

Iron lady? FE!

 

I cannot remember I hate character so since Anomen of course.
Typical high society woman that get her place through bed and proud of herself and now she feels like Pillar of the Earth: See my glory at two sized Bentley.

 

I am going to deconstruct all those odes to her. I really cannot understand where people find those qualitues.

 

1- So called clever person. *look into her ear* Where is so called cunning and dangerous? Show off, Vivienne! She attacks nobles with her spells like magister from Tevinter. Wait, no even worse- magisters act more accurate. Her head is off from her impunity- she constantly insult all party members and Inquisitor himself despice that her life depends on them. She needed Inquisition but Inqusition doesn't needed her- Solas and Dorian acts more wisely. I cannot understand why she joins to us if she thinks "I am surrounded by slobs, ooowww!" She described as clever person but doesn't act like one.

 

2- Iron. No Iron is there. There only her assholishness and big ego.

 

3- Ambition? Narrow mindeness and hypocrisy. She wants Circles to be like always. 

 

She can't see more more than her own needs, she doesn't understand what leader's responsibility means. Vivienne has her palace and stylish clothes but all people in Thedas understand that Circles needed to be reformed or war will continues. She is so selfish that if she loses her palace she will join rebels, I am sure of it. Kirkwall mages can suffer for her gloriness, yay!

 

She acts like real woman of her type- perfect written character. I am sob that I cannot make her Tranquil. 

 

Some positive notes: she doesn't use Blodd magic and doesn't blow up Chantries.

 

Resume: Typical comcal orlesian fanfaron not Iron Lady. In my eyes she has no talents except to think of Orlais with suitable man. 

 

 

 

Let's say why do we hate her in civilised manner and give each other grop hug.

She's the perfect Divine. Rebuilds the Circles, gives mages more personal responsibility, recreates the Templar and crushes the annoying mage rebels (if sided with mages) and crushes all resistance against her rule.

If Vivienne was purple I still would hate her.

 

Vivienne’s views are so her-sided. Look, by all means have your opinions about the Circle and Mages, but please do not tell me how to run MY Inquisition. I do not need to hear you rant about how Haven was a miscalculation, nor do I need to hear second hand your trying to change the décor of my stronghold behind my back.

 

As for Vivienne’s views on the Mages, the part that made my jaw drop was when she told me she was sent to some party with a few other mages for entertainment and she was OK with that. So, being some sort of circus elephant is not wrong? Are you that stupid!?!

 

Not only that you give me a long ass speech about why Mages need to be locked up, yet your envious I walked physically through the Fade. This statement proved that she is completely and totally full of sh!t.

 

In truth I feel as though Vivienne wanted to join the Inquisition for her own personal gain-one more thing she can add to her resume and something to brag about to the nobles. 

 

The only time Vivienne was ever in my party was going to the Winter Palace. I rarely spoke to her because whenever I did I’d get a massive migraine.

 

I’ve heard players say her quest was so sweet. I for one thought it was hilarious that anyone could be with a woman like Vivienne.

 

I for one praise the writers for making a character so well written that Vivienne has become the vilest companion I have ever encountered in any DA game.

 

Vivienne is a snobby b!tch who believes everything she says/does is right and everything you do/say is wrong. You can be best friends with her, sure. I however refuse to kneel to Vivienne’s level and tell her that she shits gold nuggets and kiss her ass.

 

And for the love of the Maker, please stop using “Dear” all the damn time!

I love Vivienne. She's my fourth favorite character in the game, with only Cole, Josephine and Cassandra being preferred to her. She is awesome. That's all.

GOD I hate that ******. She's so funny and smart, and a total boss. Ugh, the ******.

I don't like her or agree with anything she says, but annoying her is amusing. So she isn't a bad character, I guess.

Ha! The Catalyst might be truly the most hated Bioware character of all time, considering the massive (lol) uproar it caused...

Back to the topic, I agree, Vivienne has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. I did laugh when she told me about how she got to where she is... what with the noble and stuff. Now, while I don't have a problem with using sex as a tool, she acts like she got to where she is all by her lonely self... which... no. Just no! She basically acknowledges she slept her way into nobility, while pretending she got there through merit... it's actually quite remarcable as far as delusions go... or maybe she simply chooses to ignore reality.

But that's just one minor problem. Her narrow minded, blatantly ignorant opinions and the absolute conviction she is infallible are the things that make her unbearable. And like all people similar to her, she fails to comprehend logic and it shows in most of her dialogue.

Now for a character to elicit such a powerful emotional response, with so few dialogue lines... the writing is incredible. So in terms of how well she is written and voice acted, I'm really impressed. In terms of personally liking or disliking her, I'm truly horrified...

So much this. Plus she doesn't want to bang the Inquisitor. She's quickly approaching god-tier.
