Figured now is a good time to start consolidating this info.
For importing a (full or almost full, got the 75% acheiv) Paragon, level 50, when I started, I got:
+2000 exp (start at level 3)
+30000 credits
+5000 Element Zero (eezo)
+5000 Iridium
+5000 Palladium
+5000 Platinum
+190 Paragon
+19 Renegade
And for having the Rich Achievement:
+100000 Credits
Decisions like whether Ashley, Kaidan, or Wrex died don't seem to matter at the start.
I'm curious what the bonus is for being level 60, and if there are any other ways to get a boost at the beginning.

It looks like I'll be receiving the same bonus as you.
I think you get more points for a level 60 character. I might just play mass effect 1 again once I'm done with 2 that is.

I read you start at lvl 5 if you import a lvl 60.

If it's a level boost only then I don't feel the need to play ME1 right away or anything like that.
I thought being level 60 gets you like some sorta extra armor or gun access.

Yeah, I imported level 60 and started at level 5. I also had 10000 for every element instead of 5000. But my renegade/paragon numbers were different, too, probably because I played blend of both choices.

Come to think about it those bonuses aren't that bad, but I'm still not going to do right away. I'll take my time with ME2 and do everything when I'm done with ME2 I'll play ME1 again. I'll finish my current level 50 character and also make him renegade this time around.

Ok after completed ME2, I can import ME2 character and restart the game once again. I can restart with my endgame Shepard.
Next I created a new game without importing anything, I can freely select one more ability that belongs to my companion.
