I get the feeling I'm approaching the last parts of the main quest. I've explored too much and am over-leveled for the MQ now according to the level ranges I see.
I've decided to not do any more exploring until I finish the MQ. My understanding is that you can continue doing everything even after the MQ is over. My question is, will all the companions you have still be available?
I just need a yes or no answer without any further spoilers. Thank you.

Or, to be more specific: some, it's unavoidable, some, it is.

Don't forget the unnecessary instruction to "play the game". The OP just wants to make sure he isn't missing out on something by finishing the main quest now instead of waiting.
Always one to have something to complain at.
Just to update:
I finished the MQ and I'm happy to report that my "goto" team is still in-tact for post-game. As for the guaranteed departure: yes, it surprised me and a good twist. Thought it would be someone else. The other "maybe" departure had me worried for a moment, but I'm glad the game gives you an option to keep that person a little longer for more adventuring.
