I love 2-handed warriors, unfortunately they are not treated well in the DA universe, imo.

In Origins it was my favourite warrior. However, if min/maxing, the warrior itself is broken: a dual wield dagger warrior, full dexterity, has probably the best single target dps output of the game while autoattacking and a defense so high that you are the best tank (unbelievable, I know). You don't have Indomitable or Shield Wall so ogres can lock you down, but that's not really a problem. No utility however means it's not good for solo runs. For the same reason it's better to do a dexterity SnS with a dagger, and imo it's a better dps than a 2-handed, as sns needs less skill to be played :( . The 2handed warrior was not the best dps, but had very good utility (cc) skills.

That's not quite true... CUN-based bard/assassin rogue had easily the highest DPS because well... backstabs+cunning.

Also a dex-based W+S warrior was flat out a better tank, mainly because shield wall gave some immunity to knockdowns. Also had decent auto attack DPS (not close to DW warrior, but I digress) if you used a dagger, although some players refused to use dagger+shield for role-playing purposes.

To be fair once people figured out optimal min-maxing pretty much everything became OP in Origins, not just warriors.

But that's pretty true in DA:I too, after Skyhold, if you craft and skill well then everything becomes really easy.

I said it was >probably< the best single target dps. If it's the second best I'm ok with that. Even if it's the third, tbh :P. Still I find it faster than a cunning rogue, mostly because you don't have to care about positioning; with all that cunning however Song of Courage dominates.

I agree about Shield Wall, but I never had trouble when I tried the dual dagger warrior. Ogre stunlocked me, but who cares? If min-maxing, I prefer to have more dps to steamroll thru content faster, so I'd choose a dual dagger than a dagger and shield. For rpg purpose I hate dual wielding, as I dislike its concept and can bear it only for rogues (but I prefered they used just one dagger). If going solo however I don't think the dex warrior is good as you have no utility, and that's where the 2-handed shines, imo.

True that when min-maxing DAO is totally broken. That's why I prefer DA2 combat, where nightmare can still be a challange (sometimes). I can't understand why DAO veterans bashed DA2 fighting...

Post-skyhold DAI seems easier than DAO. If we had proper tactics, it would surely be easier.

Two handed in games are slow because players seem to have an easier time to relate to two handed weapons being bulky slow and hard hitting. Far from the truth, and anyone who has swinged a well balanced one can tell you this. In some ways, while innacurate i enjoy more the bulky nuclear weapons that two handed seems to be on RPGs, but the problem is that in DAI they are just bulky.
